Why Are These 3 Technologies Considered the Most Revolutionary – EVER?

If a poll were to be taken today and you were asked to respond, what would you personally say are the three technologies you consider to be the most revolutionary ever? While there are technologies a whole lot more advanced than the three most common answers, these are thought to be the most revolutionary ever because they are changing the way we live and work. Some advanced technologies only impact a small portion of the population, but as you will soon see, these three are pervasive throughout.

The Internet

What would life be like without the Internet? Most people alive today can’t remember a time when there wasn’t the Internet, but there is still a significant portion of the population who remember the days when you looked local businesses up in the Yellow Pages.

Now, the Internet is so vital to the success of businesses of any size that there is even specialized managed Magento hosting UK that businesses rely on. It’s their own personal dedicated piece of the pie in the sky. The closest they’ll get to a cyber-brick-and-mortar establishment. Imagine doing business routinely from your flat in London to customers in Dubai, Shanghai, Rome, Los Angeles and Montreal in one day without ever picking up a phone or getting on a plane? This revolutionary technology has transformed the world.

LED Lighting

Not only are we living in a new century but we are living in a new millennium as well! Can you imagine what the response would have been even ten or fifteen years ago if you had been told that you would be lighting your home and office with lamps that lasted about 13 years on average, could run at a cost less than 25% of what an incandescent lamp would cost to run, and that they are the safest source of light to be found? Light emitting diodes don’t generate inordinate amounts of heat like incandescents and they surely do not contain dangerous gasses like CFLs.

Multiple Benefits of 3D Printing

Now imagine standing in an office in 1980 telling a client that you are going to print up an image of the home you are designing and it will be ‘here’ in just a moment. They’d be watching the door for your administrative assistant to come marching through with a sheaf of papers. What do you think their reaction would be to suddenly see a 3D representation of a building right there at arm’s length in front of them? Talk about going paperless – that’s beyond the scope of a paperless society! So you see, while there are many types of technology in literally every industry on earth, 3D printing, along with the Internet and LED lighting, seem to have had the greatest impact, not only on the way in which we do things but the way in which we can save time and money.

By reducing our dependence on fossil fuels and natural resources, each of these technologies makes it easier to envision a future where nature is just as lovely and bountiful as it is now. It will be interesting to revisit this subject in another decade. At the rate at which technology is advancing, there is no telling what tomorrow will bring.
