What I Did to Fix My Aching Back

There’s nothing worse than suffering from a bad back. It’s a constant aching feeling that never seems to go away. But here’s how I got rid of mine.

Improved My Posture

The problem with my back had been building up for a long time, and in hindsight I can see why. My posture was pretty bad, so this was the first thing I made an effort to change. It didn’t take too much hard work to change it either. Standing up straight is easy when you put your mind to it, so do it!

You put a lot of extra pressure on your spine if you don’t stand correctly. Even standing incorrectly when you lean over the sink or sit at your desk can but an immense amount of strain on your back. Nerves can get trapped and cause you pain if you have the wrong curvature of the spine.

Changed My Mattress

Mattresses need to be changed every so often, but how many of us actually do this? To be honest, I hadn’t changed my mattress for a very long time before I eventually did. You wouldn’t believe the difference it made for me though, it was quite incredible to be honest. I sleep better, and then I feel much better when I wake up.

This could be the problem that you’re having if you’re starting to feel a strain on your back. So, change your mattress today if you haven’t for a long time. Started Floor Exercises

One of the simplest ways in which you can improve how your back feels is to improve your flexibility. And the best way to do that is to start floor exercises. This is what I did, and I’ve been doing them ever since. Focus on the exercises that have an impact on your spine and hamstrings.

Ordinary exercises usually help too. Activity keeps you in shape and puts your back through its paces. This might feel like it’s causing pain in the short-term, but it’ll be good for it in the long-term. Losing weight also helps because it reduces the amount of strain placed on your back and spine.

Discovered Relaxation Techniques

A lot of people believe that the best thing you can do for your back is to relax your mind. And, having discovered some new relaxation techniques myself, I think it must have an impact. It might sound strange, but it’s true. Deep breathing helps you focus the mind and takes the focus off your daily stresses.

Apparently, it’s all about reducing your perceived level of pain. When you’re relaxed, your body reacts differently to the pain you experience. You could try meditation tai chi or yoga. They’re all great ways of helping your mind and body relax.
