Weight Loss With Dumbbells And Michael Volkmar

I’m not a super athletic person. I’m not a runner. I really don’t like to exercise (but, I wish I did). However, I have to say, once I had taken on a dumbbell workout, I was amazed at the difference. After even just 2 weeks, I could notice a big difference. I felt stronger. And, I could go up a flight of stairs with a lot more ease. I was then thinking, “Wow, before doing strength training, I really wasn’t that strong.” And, once I felt stronger, I actually didn’t mind doing my workout as much because I was beginning to feel better (physically and mentally).

The person who was guiding me in my workout disappeared (that’s a long story). So, I just decided to make up my own workouts. But, I have to admit, I was losing motivation. I prefer someone guiding me and I like variety. When it was just myself, I was sticking to the same routine all the time (and it was getting boring). Then, I was recently introduced to “Dumbbell Workout Handbook: Weight Loss – The Best Workouts For Torching Fat And Burning Calories Like Never Before,” by Michael Volkmar, and I was so excited to receive this book. I finally, once again, had 3rd party guidance in helping me plan my workout. There’s just something more motivating when someone else is guiding you.

A Dumbbell Workout Guide

This book is a wonderful guide to dumbbells and workouts incorporating such dumbbells. It includes how dumbbells can help with weight loss, their advantages in training, dumbbell types, and other dumbbell basics. The book then goes on to provide various workouts utilizing dumbbells, including fat-burning workouts, density training, strength/cardio density workouts, tabata circuits, core stability and strength workouts, and more. It’s quite an impressive collection of exercises.

I haven’t done all of the exercises, so I can’t speak for all of them. However, the ones I did do, they didn’t take that long, which is so nice. Even with a busy schedule, I can fit these workouts in. I do, however, recommend that you carefully read and follow the book’s directions and warnings. An injury is far from fun and can debilitate you for a long time (I speak from experience). I also recommend you check with your doctor before starting a new exercise routine.

As quoted from the back cover of the book, “Whether you’re looking to revamp your workouts, find new ways to torch body fat, or overcome your personal fitness plateau and achieve never-before seen results, ‘The Dumbbell Workout Handbook: Weight Loss’ shows you how!” But, please remember, as with any workout, workout results do vary for each individual.

One additional point I’d like to make is that the book does not provide detailed directions on how to do the individual exercises. However, the author does provide guidance as to how you can learn them. (It is difficult to properly learn an exercise by just reading a few sentences.)

This book is available on Amazon in paperback for $15.00 and in the Kindle version for $7.99 (prices subject to change).
