It can be about anything from veterans to childhood memories. Literature is already a beautiful work of art, and what I have for you today proves that. Finding someone whose material interests you can be a difficult journey. There are so many great authors out there, like Joan Schweighardt. Schweighardt, who has been writing and ghostwriting for the better part of her life, turns her attention to the historical fiction genre. She has turned a painstakingly researched and historically accurate tale into a beautiful title, Before We Died!
In 1908 two Irish American brothers leave their jobs on the docks of Hoboken, NJ to make their fortune tapping rubber trees in the South American rainforest. They expect to encounter floods, snakes, malaria, extreme hunger, and unfriendly competitors, but nothing prepares them for the psychological hurdles that will befall them. The two young brothers battle corruption, the forces of nature, and their own weaknesses (including the issue of their love for the same woman) in the deepest part of the South American rainforest.
Now, Before We Died, the first in a three-book “rivers” series so there is much more to look forward to. This is simply just the beginning of a trilogy that’s going to be spectacular in many ways.
