How do you frost cupcakes without tools?

I recommend using a piping bag with Wilton tip # 12 attached to frost these patriotic cupcakes.

If you don’t have any tools to frost your cupcakes, you can use can put the frosting into a Ziploc bag and cut the corner.

Frosting cupcakes without tools may create more work for you, but you can still make these tie dye patriotic cupcakes look festive using a Ziploc bag in place of a piping bag.

How to Make Red, White, and Blue Cupcakes

Making Tie Dye patriotic cupcakes will require you to separate the cake batter into three bowls.

Using red food gel, you’ll mix one-third of the cake batter to create your red layer.

You’ll use blue food gel mixed into one-third of the white cake batter to create your red layer.

Once your cupcake batter has been tinted so that you have a red, white, and blue bowl of cupcake batter, you’ll layer the batter into your cupcake tins.

You can start with whichever color you’d like, making sure to alternative red, white, and blue cupcake batter in each muffin tin so that you have patriotic striped cupcakes.

For an added patriotic touch to your cupcakes, you’ll decorate one pretzel rod per patriotic cupcake using the melted red candy.

Allow your pretzels to cool for one hour before using it as a decorative touch to your American Flag cupcakes.

This dessert will be an excellent conversation starter during your family gathering for the 4th of July.

The guests will love how much time you took to create a magical red, white, and blue cupcake design to go along with your red, white, and blue festive décor.
