Three Places To Visit On A Cruise

Have you ever wanted to go on a cruise? They’re a great way of exploring many cities in one holiday, and you don’t need to move hotels every day to visit the sights you want to see. However, because there are so many places to see, which should you choose for your next trip – or even your first?

Three Places To Visit On A Cruise

Depending on what you want to get out of your cruise holiday, there is a range of options that will suit you and how you want to spend your time away. These are some of the fantastic places you may want to have on your itinerary as you explore the world by sea.

Auckland, New Zealand

New Zealand’s largest city is filled with many diverse attractions – whether you’re a thrill seeker, art fan, or nature lover. There are several places you could visit to explore this area.

The Sky Tower is the tallest of its kind in the southern hemisphere and is an icon of the city skyline: you can get some of the best views from up here, and even bungee jump off it. Auckland’s highest natural point is Mount Eden (its Māori name is Maungawhau) is a dormant volcano with a great bowl-shaped crater.

Saving up for a trip to New Zealand may take a while but, if you can travel at the last minute, you can get one of many last minute cruise deals. You could be exploring the sights sooner than you think.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands

There are world-class museums and great shopping for those with interest in culture. There’s plenty you can do with your family – including bike rides – and the coffee houses and nightclubs are not to be missed.

Have a walk around the Jordaan area of the city if you like culture, history, and food. The scenic neighborhood has plenty of art galleries, eateries, and specialty shops for you to explore. You won’t be far from other places of interest, either, such as Nine Little Streets or the Anne Frank House.

There’s also the Van Gogh Museum, which has the largest collection of drawings and paintings from the artist – including some of his famous Sunflowers series. Then there’s the Rijksmuseum (State Museum), which has a fantastic display of art from the likes of Vermeer and Rembrandt.

Canary Islands, Spain

These islands have always been a visitor favourite, and you can see more than one on a cruise around this area. In Lanzarote, you can discover the city of Arrecife: it’s full of sites, including the Bridge of Las Bolas and the Castle of San José. Further out, there are the caves of Jameros Del Agua (part of the region’s lava formation) and Papagayo Beach.

On Gran Canaria, have a look around the pretty town of Teror with its cobbled streets and colorful houses. The Church of San Juan Bautista in Arucas is one of the island’s most iconic Catholic cathedrals, too.

Book a trip to Teide National Park for Tenerife and look at Mount Teide’s lava flows, craters and vents. Also, make sure you see Los Gigantes cliffs – especially at sunset for amazing views.

On Fuerteventura you can enjoy over 125 miles of the best beaches in Europe, more than any of the other Canary Islands.  If relaxing on the pristine, beautiful sand beaches is not your thing, don’t worry, as Fuerteventura is ideal for any wind assisted water sport, like wind surfing and kite surfing.  There is a reason why Fuerteventura literally translates to ‘strong wind’, perfect to cool you down in the hot sun or enjoy yourself in the surf.  If you are looking for things to do in Fuerteventura you will not be disappointed with what you can find if you stop by and take a look.
