The Best TV Shows for You and Your Kids

There’s nothing worse than being forced to endure hours of terrible kids TV shows. Especially when you feel as though your children aren’t really learning anything from them either. However, we all want to spend more time with our children. Even if that does mean getting cozy on the couch. To make things easier for all of you, here are the best TV shows you can watch with your kids.

Sesame Street

It’s been around for years and is constantly voted one of the best kids TV shows of all time. The best thing about Sesame Street is that it aims to teach your children, without them really thinking about it. Not only that, but there’s some hidden adult humor in there for us parents to enjoy. This is one TV show you won’t mind watching all day. Even if it does eat up some of your ‘me time’.

SpongeBob Squarepants

More adults watch this then children, I’m sure of it! SpongeBob lives in a pineapple under the sea with his friends Patrick, Sandy, and Squidward. The creators actually designed this program to be friendly for both kids and adults. It’s one that’s packed full of humor and teaches some pretty good morals too.

Adventure Time

I’m sure this is another cartoon that was designed for adults, more than the children! Adventure Time is packed full of exciting adventures (funnily enough), bright colored characters, and lots of good deeds. You won’t mind watching it and your children will pick up on some of the great morals too. It’s a win-win situation. If you can’t find it on any of your regular channels, look at packages from companies such as TVDoneWright. You’ll find some of the more obscure channels host Adventure Time.

Rugrats

It may be a bit dated now, but Rugrats was an incredible kids TV show back in the day. If you can find reruns of this anywhere then make sure you set your children down in front of it. Not only is there plenty of comedy for the adults, but the kids are polite and well-mannered. Most of the time. Nothing better than a TV show that teaches good manners!

Pokemon

This franchise has been going for years; back to when some of you reading may have been kids yourselves. Yet with the addition of more characters, it never feels dated. While adults secretly love Pokemon, the children love it even more. It teaches us a lot about friendship and how to work hard for what you want. Just expect to fork out for one of the many games or card collections, available to buy.

Jackanory

This British TV program is another one you may need to search high and low to find. However, it is well worth getting hold of! It is such a simple show and yet it has most kids (and adults) transfixed. Jackanory ran for over 30 years and so there are plenty of episodes to catch up on. It is simple storytelling, that suits both adults and children.

All of these TV shows are perfect for some parent and child bonding time. Not only that, but they each have something to learn from them. It could be good manners and morals, or even the alphabet!
