4 Tips for Spring Break Travel for Families

4 Tips for Travel for Families

Well spring time is here and it is time to start traveling with our families. Are you ready to hit the road and start exploring? I sure am and so are my grandkids. But as anyone knows, traveling with kids is not always easy. Sometimes it is a downright pain in the butt and very stressful. And we know packing is a headache in itself. Let alone when you are packing for your entire family.  While I can’t fix all of your stressful situations. Here are 4 very helpful tips that have saved a couple of my road trips before.

Pack Smart And Soon!

Spring Break

Traveling in spring weather can be tricky. Because it is cool in the morning and evening and warm throughout the day. So make sure you pack layers. Sweater and cardigans are a must, easy to pack and doesn’t take up a lot of room in the suitcases. Another tip – do not wait till the last-minute. Pack as much as you can before it is time to leave. I always make a list of the things I don’t want to forget – sunscreen, hand sanitizers, Travelon Hand Soap Sheets.

Spring Break

They are pocket-sized, biodegradable and one of the best things I have ever found to take with us. Perfect for traveling with kids and easier to keep with you than a bar of soap. Paper thin and dissolve almost instantly in water, giving you the perfect amount of cleansing suds to wash your hands.

Boredom Busters

With my grandchildren I keep coloring books, coloring pencils, paper and a DVD hooked up. Plus we have several travel games that they can play IN the car. Which is fun because I can join them in the games and make memories during our travels.

Plan Ahead

My husband is huge on this. He checks the weather, construction or any detours the entire week before we leave. And I am in charge of checking for new restaurants, attractions and hotels. You can never be too prepared so always Plan Ahead!

Have Fun!

And my last piece of advice. Sit back and enjoy. When me and my husband travel it always rains. Does not matter when we travel or where we go. We seem to bring the rain with us. But we just laugh and dance in the rain. And now that we take the grandkids with us on some of our travels. We are teaching them to laugh and enjoy the rain. Because life is short, make the best of it!
