Whether you like either of these, or both, then Links by Lisa Becker is perfect for you. Maybe you’re looking for a good romance book for someone on your holiday list? If so, you need to check out this book.
Second Chance Romance and Golf
Who were YOU in high school? Where you a jock? Part of drama or the band? Maybe you were in the art club? (I was the latter.) Lisa’s new book Links follows Charlotte and Garrett. Both attended the same high school. Like many high schoolers adapting to life and puberty, Charlotte went through the typical “ugly duckling” phase. She also had a secret crush on Garrett. He was the cliché high school heart-throb that all the girls wanted. He also gave Charlotte the nickname “Glasses,” which she loathed!
Fast forward fifteen years. Charlotte has blossomed into a gorgeous woman, and a best-selling novelist. Corrective eye surgery helped her ditch her glasses too! A chance encounter at a Los Angeles restaurant reunites these two class mates. Garrett is teen heartbreaker turned adult Lothario. He’s also a pro golfer suffering from a shoulder injury. An injury which could end his career.
Can and will Charlotte forgive Garrett for how he treated her in high school, and for his new Don Juan life? Does she want to? Can Garrett straighten up and settle for just one woman? You’ll have to read Links to find out!
Trip down memory lane
This book made me think back to my high school years. Did you have an unrequited school crush? If so, where are they now? I honestly didn’t. I dated someone exclusively from tenth grade on, and we got married after I graduated. (We divorced a few later because two dumb kids shouldn’t get married so young. ;) )
I really enjoyed Links. I could relate to Charlotte, because I too was an awkward “ugly duckling.” Then I grew up. We all grow into our skin and blossom. So whether you’re looking for a new second chance romance book, or know someone who is, grab a copy of Links. You can also connect with Lisa via Facebook and Twitter.
