Me being of Italian descent has always had some kind of pasta dish on Sunday, whether it be lasagna, baked ziti, or a good old-fashioned bowl of pasta with sauce.

One Pot Cheesy Penne and Sausage Recipe

My grandmother always had pasta on Sunday it was an Italian tradition in our household. We would have our pasta with sauce, and of course sauce on the side with a nice size bowl of ricotta and some freshly grated parmesan cheese, with fresh Italian bread and butter, yum yum, I could still smell it and taste it.

Well, my grandmother has passed and times have changed a lot and so has things to make with pasta. I still do some of the traditional ones that she passed on but I have learned to try different ones also.

There is one particular favorite that I do tend to make that I find very yummy, it is very quick, very tasty and definitely without a doubt a keeper in my house.

I really don’t care whether its winter, spring, summer or fall, the One Pot Cheesy Penne, and Sausage are great any time of the year.

This recipe is so delicious you will find yourself going back for another helping and before you know it the pot is empty because everybody couldn’t help themselves on having a second helping.

When I make this recipe I tend to double the recipe because I always tend to have a house full of people and of course most of them are contractors with large appetites.

Nothing can describe the creaminess of the shredded cheddar cheese with the milk mixed in with the sausage and penne some onions OMG you would think you were in heaven!

I have also made this as a side with a nice steak, so it can be a side or a main meal depending on how you would like it.

Besides the dish itself being so delicious and yummy the other added plus is that it is inexpensive, it’s quick and it is made in one pot. It is sure a meal to please everyone in the house whether it be family or friends.

Sausage is one of my favorite foods to add to pasta. This looks so simple and delicious! I'm going to add this to our weekly meal plan so I can give it a try with my family. Looks like the perfect comforting dish to serve as we head back to school in 2 weeks.
