Let The Music Soothe You #RecoveryMusic

I received compensation from Recovery Unplugged for this sponsored post, any opinions expressed by me are honest and reflect my actual experience.

When you have an addiction it is the most heart wrenching place to be, For the addict and their loved ones. It will knock you down to your knees and take you to places in your mind that you don’t want to be. I have seen addiction up close and it tore my heart out. Addictions take on so many forms, drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling and the list goes on.

When it comes to admitting that they have an addiction and that is really hard for some, then the best solution is to get the help that they need. Take for instance this Florida drug rehab that uses music as part of the recovery process. Have you ever heard that saying ” Music can soothe your soul”? Did you know that using music can be a catalyst to break down defenses to help facilitate, motivate and inspire the change necessary for long-term recovery and sobriety? Did you ever feel so down and depressed and you turn on your favorite music and it helps soothe you? I know when I am having one of my bad days, I turn on some uplifting music and soon enough I am singing along and sometimes even dancing!

I know music has the power to heal us. And what it does for the person seeking the help is wonderful and to know that there is a drug rehab center that offers Music therapy is awesome! It helps them open up and build through their lives and addictions. That could be a start to something so wonderful for addicts.

Two of my all time favorite songs that have helped me when I needed that boost are “No More Drama, by Mary J Blidge” and “Exhale by Whitney Houston”. These songs have helped me so many times to reach the light at the end of that dark tunnel.

If you have a loved one that is battling an addiction and you can get them to admit that they need the help, then please check out Recovery Unplugged. It’s a battle that can be won, when you have the right tools to use!
