When I was 16 yrs old, my dad told me NEVER to buy a car without looking at Kelley Blue Book. I listened, and in my 30 odd years of driving, I’ve always looked up the car I was going to buy. I’ve had five cars in my lifetime, and each one was a GREAT buy, well worth every penny. I give Kelley Blue Book a lot of credit because they had all the information I needed in one spot. I also give my dad a lot of credit too; he gave me fantastic advice.
I’ve always bought a used car, but this year my husband and I decided we want a NEW 2017 Car or Truck. However, we want to do research first, go to the car dealership with our mind made up on the best car for our family. I don’t want to settle for what the car salesman talks me in too! My husband knows about Kelley Blue Book because of my dad, too. He shared that advice actually on the first time meeting my husband.
So last weekend my husband and I sat on the couch then pulled up the Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Awards and started reading about the cream of the crop of all available 2017 model-year vehicles. The awards are very credible in my book because there was a year-long regimen of expert vehicle evaluation and testing of nearly every new vehicle available in America. There was an analysis of a broad swath of vehicle-related data, including vehicle pricing/transaction prices, 5-Year Cost to Own data (which includes depreciation, insurance, maintenance, financing, fuel, fees and taxes for new cars), consumer reviews and ratings, and vehicle sales/retail sales information. Kelley Blue Book has all the info we need to determine exactly what car we want to buy soon.
I’ve always been a fan of Honda, and the all-new Civic was named this year’s Overall Winner among all 2016 Kelley Blue Book Best Buys. If the choice was mine only, this would be the car I want! However, it wouldn’t work with my family but maybe when I can stop being TAXI to my kids and their friends.
After reading through the Best Buy Award winners in 12 major vehicle categories. The Honda CR-V and Honda Pilot are our top vehicles we are thinking about buying soon. After reading more about the Honda Pilot on Kelley Book Book, we believe that it is the best choice for our family.
