Indulge in the Magic of Melora Mānuka Honey

I am a big fan of using honey in my food, drink, and beauty routine and was recently introduced to Mānuka honey. I am sure you’ve heard about it before as it has garnered much interest over the years. Its praises are sung by many high-profile people, including Kourtney Kardashian. This honey is produced from the nectar of the Mānuka tree by bees that pollinate the bush. It is commonly used as a natural alternative treatment to improve sleep, lower cholesterol, heal sore throats, digestive illnesses, cure gingivitis and boost energy, among others. If you haven’t tried this type of honey yet, a great one that I recommend is the Melora Mānuka Honey from New Zealand. It’s absolutely wonderful.

Melora Mānuka Honey Benefits

This Mānuka honey is sourced by New Zealand’s finest Mānuka flowers and bees then processed with the highest purity and richest compounds. For 2-6 weeks out of the year, the flowers produce nectar. As one of the most beneficial and unique types of honey available in the world, the super plant Mānuka is special due to its bioactive properties. It contains dietary methylglyoxal making Mānuka honey a natural anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-microbial agent.

The grade of Melora Mānuka honey that I’ve tried is UMF® 10+. This number indicates the “Unique Mānuka Factor” which is a measure of the unique properties found in the honey. This grading system appraises the natural markers, and assures the purity and quality found in Mānuka honey. The UMF label ensures authenticity as Melora honey is independently tested by the Unique Mānuka Factor® Honey Association. In fact, Melora is the only Mānuka honey with both Non-GMO project and UMF® certification. The range of UMF® is from 5+ to 20+. Each level naturally varies depending on plant varieties and environmental factors and are of superior quality.

Melora Mānuka Honey and Food

The certified UMF® 10+ Melora Mānuka honey contains at least Methylglyoxal 263. This is the standard mid-range grade by Mānuka honey lovers. This popular selection is a dark amber color, with a caramel-like chewy texture. It has a rich, complex and earthy taste. I really like to use Melora Mānuka honey as a sweetener, switching out a spoonful of it, to replace sugar. It’s a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth and get rid of those sugar cravings and sometimes I will eat it straight out of the jar.

This superfood honey will fuel your body and it’s nice to use in everyday cooking and baking as well. Nature’s sweetener, this honey tastes really nice in steel-cut oatmeal, on your morning toast, in Acai bowls, in hot & cold cereal, in tea and so much more. I enjoy using a spoonful of it in warm water with a squeeze of lemon – a great pick-me-up drink in the morning and afternoon.

Melora Mānuka Honey and Beauty

Honey is one of the oldest skin care ingredients and it tackles many different issues. It’s a great go-to as it has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and nurturing properties. Honey can help with acne because it has a low pH and many bacteria can’t thrive in this environment. It’s calming and moisturizing, as the humectant is gentle and very saturated.

I use Melora Mānuka Honey as a face mask since the quality is pretty much the best you can get and leave it on my face for about 20 minutes. It leaves my skin feeling clean, plump and healthy. Sometimes, I have a bit of acne at times, and after using the honey, my spots appear smaller, calmer, and eventually disappear. Many people use Mānuka honey as an everyday facial cleanser and body treatment too. It creates an amazing glow afterwards. The UMF® 10+ container costs about $71, but it really is long lasting and very versatile in its use.

At Melora Everyone Gets a Fair Share

Besides the amazing products from Melora, this company’s honey range is harvested in the remote forestlands of New Zealand. Under the guardianship of their Māori landowner partners all their honey is sourced in the most sustainable and ethical ways possible by beekeepers who respect the land. They call it home and follow ethical practices, minimizing their environmental footprint.

In their efforts to maintain better living for everyone, Melora developed an industry-leading Fair Share profit partnership with local Maori landowners. The sales of each jar of Melora honey are fairly shared with these landowners to ensure everyone is living a better and healthier life. Amazingly, customers can even trace their honey jars exactly back to where they came from. Wow! Thank you Melora for sharing your Mānuka honey with me!

Note: Due to the raw and unpasteurized quality of Melora Mānuka honey, it’s unsuitable for children under one year of age
