How To Recognize That Your Dog Might Be Ill

You need to look out for the signs that your dog might be sick because there are many times when dogs are ill and cannot make it obvious to you that they do not feel well.  You will feel as though your dogs are not acting right, or you might feel like they are not eating like they once did. It makes you wonder if you’ve done something wrong. Did they eat something they weren’t supposed to, or maybe you got the melatonin dosage for dogs wrong. There are plenty of reasons for you to be concerned, and the few options below explain how you can figure out what is going on with your dog.

  1. Their Activity

Dog health and symptoms start with their activity.  You need to be concerned if your normally active dog is not so active anymore.  You need to figure out if you can get your dog to be active again by taking them out, or you should look into their food because it might not provide them with enough energy.  They might need to have some tests because they could have a parasite, and you can handle things like fleas which also make it hard for dogs to be active.

  1. Their Eating Habits

You will find that your dog does not eat when they do not feel well.  You should make sure that you have tried changing their food before you panic.  Some dogs simply get tired of their food, and they will not want to eat it anymore because you have been feeding them the same thing for such a long time.  You can solve this problem by switching between wet and dry food, and you can take them to the vet if this does not work.

  1. Head Butting Or Running Into Things

Your dog might headbutt things or run into things because they cannot see as well as they did before.  If this is the case, you need to be sure that you have had them checked out by a vet.  They might also have problems with their equilibrium which comes down to the fact that they have another disorder that needs to be treated.  You can get them on a better diet, or you might need to get them hydrated.

  1. They Do Not Drink Water

Dogs do not drink water when they do not feel well, and you need to take them to the vet so that they can see someone about these problems.  You can get the dogs back on their proper diet, and you will find that they go back to drinking water 1hen they have had their problems solved.

You need to be very aware of what your dogs are doing during the day or when you get home because most dogs can show you the signs that they are not well in the way that they act.  You can take some steps to make your dogs healthier, and you can get them into the vet to treat the problem you see or the disorder underneath the surface that is really causing their problems with lethargy or loss of appetite.
