How Much Juice You Can Make Out Of A Lemon

Lemons are rich in vitamins and useful elements that boost our immune system and support our health. At any time of the year, a glass of freshly-squeezed lemon juice is a great dose of health for anybody (unless you are allergic to it)!

Let’s figure out now what amount of juice one can get from single citrus fruit.

Where Can We Use Lemon Juice?

Usually, we don’t use fresh lemon juice for drinking that often as it is pretty sour and not all of us enjoy that taste so much – Meredith Hayes from Beezzly says. Nevertheless, if you like sour drinks, add some sugar or honey to a glass of freshly-squeezed lemon juice to make it more pleasant to drink.

At the same time, another and much more frequent area of lemon juice usage is cooking. Yes, it is not only the lemon zest that can be added to different dishes! Cookies, buns, and cakes, muffins and ice-cream, jelly and puddings, cream and different fillers – lemon juice is widely used to add its sour taste and fresh flavor to many sweets, sauces, and savory dishes.

And of course, let’s don’t forget the famous hot tea with lemon and honey that we make when suffering from cold. If you want to dive deeper here are Detailed guides.

Why Is Lemon Juice So Healthy?

As we all know, lemon is a source of C vitamin but it’s not all about it. Drinking lemon juice helps us to hydrate our body enough, supports weight loss (ladies, attention!) and makes our skin more healthy and good-looking.

It is also good for our kidney and digestion, so why not take a sip or two of this drink now and then?

Can You Get Much Juice From One Lemon?

Even so, you may still be wondering what amount of juice you will manage to get out of one lemon if squeeze it properly.

So let’s clarify this issue. Will that amount of juice be enough for drinking? Probably not as one lemon, even if tightly pressed till the very last drop, can give you no more than two or (if you try really hard) three tablespoons of juice! It may be enough for some cooking or baking purposes but definitely not for enjoying it at the breakfast table.

Nevertheless, count on the size of your citruses! The average-size lemon normally contains two or three big spoons of juice whilst bigger fruits may give some more of it.

How Many Lemons Do I Need For Making a Cup Of juice?

That’s a good question! Again, everything depends on the size of the citruses you are using. If we are talking about medium-size lemons, then you will require about six of them to make yourself a cup of sour drink.

However, if your lemons are big enough or even huge, you may need less of them.

As long as lemon juice is very sour, there are few people who can drink it freshly-squeezed as it is. So, to add some taste to it, we would recommend mixing lemon juice with some sugar or honey to sweeten it, as well as dilute it with water a bit to make the juice less concentrated.

So now you know how much juice you can get from one average-sized lemon and how many of them are required for a glass of this healthy drink!

Enjoy!
