Clear the Negative Energy from Your Space This Holiday

The holidays are such a busy time. That can lead to stress, loss of sleep, and then crankiness! I have something to help you clear the negative energy from your space this holiday.

Clear the Negative Energy from Your Space This Holiday

No one wants to be around a “Negative Nelly,” especially during the holiday season. Are you familiar with smudging? Traditionally it was done by Native Americans to clear their spaces or homes from negative energy. Many people smudge with sage, however, the smell can be quite daunting. That’s where Palo Santo Wood comes in.

Sage STINKS!

We started smudging our home with Sage when my son was about 6. At the time we didn’t know he had Bipolar Disorder, the doctors just thought the episodes were due to Autism. We were willing to try anything to center him and help him feel better, so we tried smudging. It did seem to help change his moods a bit, however, our eldest son and I can not stand the stink of sage. Thankfully I discovered Palo Santo Wood.

It’s used in the same way as sage. You light it, let the flame go down, and spread the smoke around yourself, the room, or your entire home. (You could even burn some in your fireplace.) However, this wood smells amazing!! Palo Santo Wood has a citrus and cedar smell. It’s quite sweet, and we love it. Let it burn all the way down, or put it out by dipping in sand, or rubbing into a metal dish. Many Native Americans even use seashells to put out their smudge sticks.

Palo Santo Essential Oil

If you don’t want to burn the wood, you can also get some Palo Santo Essential Oil. Put it in your diffusers and enjoy the scent and it’s healing properties. You could also use when making lotions, or dilute it with some coconut oil, and make a handy spray. Mist it onto your wrists. You’ll smell great, and feel amazing. (Or you could get a glass roller bottle so you can apply it that way. Just make sure you dilute it first.)
