Choosing the Right Sunglasses for Spring Break

Spring break is upon us. For many, that means traveling to beaches or warmer places. Sunglasses are a must have accessory. But do you know how to choose the perfect pair?

Choosing the Right Sunglasses for Spring Break

It’s not hard. But knowing what types to look for before you go shopping for a new pair of shades will help. First, you need to know the shape of your face. There are four basic face shapes that we will talk about. Each shape will have a type of frame that will best suit your features.

Heart Shaped

Heart shaped faces are defined by a broader forehead and cheek bone area, and narrow towards the jaw line and chin. If you have a heart-shaped face, choose sunglasses that are WIDER than your forehead. Something in lighter colors, with more details on the lower half.

Round

A round face is characterized by a softer, circular face. The width and length of your face are almost equal. When choosing sunglasses for a round face, choose a frame with lenses that are wider than they are tall. A frame with nose pads to keep your sunglasses off your cheeks will help too.

Square Face

A square face is one in which the face has strong, well-defined angles in the forehead. As well as in the cheeks and jaw line. If you have a square-shaped face try choosing frames that are round, or upswept (like a cat eye shape.) Thinner sunglass frames in lighter colors will accentuate your features.

Oval

An oval face is defined by more balanced features. Your chin may be slightly narrower than your forehead. For oval faces choose sunglasses in bold shapes. Bright colors, and textures that maintain facial balance are your best bet.
