Today, Apple will be releasing a brand-new iMac Pro to the public. Much hype and anticipation have been built around the event. While the company is primarily known for its smartphones, Apple makes many excellent computers and laptops. The laptop will go public on December 14. So, what is it all about? Well, the iMac Pro is designed to be a professional all-in-one desktop computer. Apple has claimed that this computer will be their most powerful Mac ever made! Suffice to say, fans are incredibly excited to give it a try. What sets this computer apart from its competitors? You’ll find out below!
Memory And Storage
Apple has always done a good job ensuring that their computers have plenty of storage and memory. The new iMac will be available in several models. It will come with either 32, 64 or 128 GB of 2666 MHz DDR4 EEC SDRAM memory. It will offer 1 TB of storage. The user can opt to expand the memory up to 2 or 4 TB in the future. Even with the lowest options, the user will most likely have enough speed and storage to satisfy all of their needs.
Graphics
Apple has stepped up their game in terms of graphics. In the past, Apple was lacking, due to its lack of software. Now, the company wants to make sure that its computers can run the latest games without any difficulties. This is why the new iMac will contain a high-quality chip from AMD. The computer will be available with either an AMD Radeon Pro Vega 56 or an AMD Radeon Pro Vega 64. A maximum of 16 GB HBM2 video memory will be available to the consumer. There is very little, if anything, that the new iMac will not be able to run.
Intel Xeon Processor
The iMac Pro will be available with an 8, 10 or 18-core Intel Xeon processor, which delivers mission-critical processing, big data insights and real-time analytics. Apple is relying on this component to sell its new lap computer. The Intel Xeon processor offers continuous workability without interruption and proven reliability for any workload.
The Design
When it comes to the design of the new iMac there really isn’t much that has changed in terms of looks. You are still dealing with the ultra-thin slim-bodied design, but what really makes sets this model apart from the previous models is the new thermal design. With a new, unique gray enclosure this model can deliver 80% more cooling, 75% more airflow and handle 500 more watts of power as compared to the previous models. Due to the new thermal design, you will notice a much wider ventilation grill located on the back of the machine. If you are a previous iMac owner, you probably remember that the standard models came equipped with a port in the back to upgrade the RAM.
However, due to the new thermal design, there is no such port available. Unfortunately, this is one of the major downsides of the machine, but this feature won’t turn off any real iMac user when you look at everything else the machine has to offer.
Ports
Apple received a lot of criticism when it removed the headphone jack from its phone. iMac lovers will be happy to know that the headphone and digital audio output will be available on the iMac. It will also include 4 USB 3.0 ports and an SDXC card slot. 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports will also be available. There is no doubt that these ports will be enough to satisfy most consumers. No matter what you wish to plug into your computer, you’ll be able to do so. It is truly a comprehensive system with no boundaries. As a fan of Apple, you should really consider taking the time to sell your iMac so you can get the newest model tomorrow!
