5 Benefits to Living in a Golf Community

If you are looking for a change in pace from your normal neighborhood and hobbies, you might want to consider moving to a property on a golf course. Golf course communities offer many benefits that sometimes go unnoticed. Simply visiting one of these communities will entice you to buy a home and stay there forever.

  • Amenities Access

While most golf course properties offer free or discounted memberships to the homeowners in the community, other enticing amenities encourage people to move to places like Huntsman Springs in the Teton Valley. This neighborhood features long stretches of boardwalk for residents to stroll down and fish along, a wellness center that includes a spa and indoor pool, and weekly community events such as bird-watching or hiking. In the winter, residents may decide to enjoy snowshoeing, sledding, or the private club room at the Grand Teton Resort. These amenities, including one of the nation’s best golf courses, entice homeowners to find real estate in the area.

  • Higher Property Value

Living in a golf community comes with a sense of prestige… followed by a large price tag. It can be expensive to own a home in a golfing area, however, due to its location, your home won’t lose much value if you decide to sell later. With expansive green lawns to admire, the closeness to tee boxes and fairways, and all the available amenities, it’s no wonder why people would be itching to move into a valuable home on a valuable lot.

  • Housing Options

Depending on the golf community, some places offer different housing options. If you want to be a part of the community but want to pay more to be right on the green, you may choose a park home, a house along the main drive. Lodge homes overlook the course and have increased square footage than that of the park home. However, if you are looking for the perks of a golfing community but don’t want to risk your privacy, there are custom homes that are larger and more secluded.

  • Restrictions

While this isn’t true for all golfing communities, some enforce age restrictions. Generally, if there is an age restriction, it is for people 55 or older.  Being around people your age can make the amenities more enjoyable and can help you feel comfortable with people your age and with the same like-mindedness. With age-restrictions, these communities are also more likely to be quieter in the evenings.

  • Manicured Landscape

Instead of peering into your neighbor’s weed-filled yard every morning, you will have beautiful, manicured views every day. Being a part of a golf community usually means the area is regulated by a homeowner association which regulates the landscaping and maintenance, thus ensuring that your view is never distracted by an unsightly yard. If you have a view of the golf course, you are guaranteed to see perfectly mowed, green lawns every day (except during the winter, that is). The manicured landscape not only helps you appreciate the views, but it also helps protect property values.

Whether it’s the amenities you enjoy or simply the high value of your home, golfing communities are an excellent place to live. We promise there will be gorgeous views and plenty to do all year round.
