4 Tips for Packing School Lunches for Teens
Do you have TEENS who don’t want to eat the school lunches? My kids hate school lunches, but they need to eat so guess what…Mom will pack you a lunch every day then!  When I said that I could see the disappointment on their faces.  I didn’t quite understand their hesitation until they told me I pack baby lunches. What the heck are Baby Lunches!  Oh, so they don’t like it when I decorate the fruit or write them love notes.  I guess the sandwiches in different shapes is something my teens DO NOT want in their school lunches.

4 Tips for Packing School Lunches for Teens

  1. Collaborate:  I include my kids in grocery shopping, dinner suggestions so why not their lunches. I want to know what they will eat.  I don’t want items they will throw away, that is a waste of money and food.  I will take at least one of the kids to the store..which is usually Walmart!
  2. Pack Leftovers:  My kids love my dinners so why not save money and food by packing leftovers.  I plan to make a little extra when I know they would like the meal in their lunches.
  3. Mix It Up:  Now provide different options each week. My kids will get bored if I pack an apple and PB& J every week, so I need to shake it up.
  4. Try New Foods: Pinterest is FULL of ideas so why not experiment.  Go through ideas with the kids.  I love to try new things on my teens.

To help me in making lunches for my teens Del Monte® has a Think Outside the Lunchbox booklet on 1 million packages of it’s Fruit Cups at WALMART, with $4.80 in instant coupon savings from these great lunchbox brands: The Laughing Cow® Cheese Dippers, Sara Lee® Snack Cakes, Juicy Juice®, Nature’s Harvest® bread, Wet Ones® Hand Wipes, Mini Babybel® and Entenmann’s® Little Bites™.

I’m all about SAVING MONEYso you know I used the coupons to buy some items my teen will like to have in their lunches. The products listed are all items I can get at Walmart, and the kids will eat them, so it is a win-win situation for me!  Saving money and making my teens happy is all I want in the long run.  Then I know I’m doing a great job!

These are excellent tips. My favorite is the one to change it up. I fully agree if you pack the same things they will be very bored!

We are homeschooled, but when we were in private school (and not vegan) we used to work together to come up with healthy ideas. My favorite then was a smoked salmon and spinach sandwich. And my mom would always pack healthy snacks and favorites to die for!

School lunches aren't so tasty. I remember either eating from the salad bar or packing a lunch. Sometimes my mom would do it, but often times I would create my own meal. Variety always helps.
