Are you already turning your mind towards next years project? The desire to build and improve our surroundings can take over our lives if we let it. There’s something about sitting still and relaxing that some people don’t like. They always need to be on the go.

Carports have a lot going for them, and their popularity is on the rise. Maybe you could erect one in your garden next summer; I think you will be glad that you did. Perhaps the thought of one has never crossed your mind. Let’s explore some top reasons to make your next year’s DIY project a carport. I think you will enjoy it.

Ease Of Construction

Though they are easy to erect, the Perth carports by Patio Living are substantial features that make an impact on you home and garden. They do not close off the space in the way a garage does, however, so the area will still look spacious.

Protect Your Vehicle

You might lavish a lot of time and energy to keep your vehicle looking as if it just came out of the showroom. It is a pain when the birds fly over and leave a mess on your newly-polished bonnet. We have all been there; it usually happens about five minutes after you finish applying the final coat of wax and buffing the paint until it reflects like a mirror. Your car will be safe from the birds and any other particles that fall out of the sky.

Keep Out Of The Rain

Even though it is called a carport, you can use it for any purpose you like. Imagine if you are enjoying a hot day in the garden with your guests and there is a sudden shower. You can pick up your chairs and move under the carport. It is a shame to go into the house and miss the fresh air on a warm but showery day. The roofs of modern carports resemble those of a conservatory these days, so in no way are you slumming it. They are pleasant places to be, and it is better than asking your guests to sit in the garage; I’m sure you agree.

Let Your Kids Play There

You could use a few tarpaulins to enclose the sides of the structure to create a magical place for your kids to play. They love covering the dining table with sheets and enjoying the space below; imagine what they will do in the carport. It is a useful place for them to enjoy when it is raining outside. They get fed up with playing in the house after a while.

Working

If you spend a lot of time working on DIY projects, you will find the carport useful. Take your portable workbench and tools under there so that you can keep working in the rain. How many times have you had to put them away in the past when the weather turned against you? Trust me; you will enjoy having a roof over your head.

Have I convinced you? A carport will make a fantastic project next year. Will you buy a kit or design your own? You have plenty of time to think about it. It is an exciting time, my friends, and I hope you enjoy it.

I would love to have a carport that could protect my paint against the weather. We have a lot of hail storms out here so it might be a good idea to invest in one. I appreciate the article and will definitely consider getting one for our cars.

You mentioned all the great things of having a carport! My favorite is that my car always remains clean because it is protected from the weather and environment. Like you said, it is also a great place to work outside when it is raining. I recommend building one. If you don't have the proper knowledge of how to do it, you can always hire a professional!
