When was the last time you looked at your credit score? It can be shocking to look at your credit score if you have not seen it for a while. The good news is that improving your credit score doesn’t need to be as hard as it seems. Here is how you can manage your credit score without even trying.

Pay your bills on time

Something as simple as not paying your bills on time can hurt your credit score tremendously. Put reminders in your calendar to pay your bills in time. I put reminders in several locations, just to be safe. I’d rather pay my bills on time than not.

Know your credit score

A lot of people don’t pay attention to their credit score, which means it ends up getting lower. When you know your credit score, you’re more likely to care about it and actually do something about it. A quick check of looking at your credit score and you’re more likely to stay on top of it!

Be a responsible credit card user

Don’t use a credit card without the intentions of paying it off. Credit cards can be an excellent financial tool, but you need to pay off the balance. Credit cards can help you save money as well as up your credit score – when used right. Keep this in mind when you’re trying to manage your credit score.

Know about TransUnion

A good way to stay on top of your credit score is to know about all the tools out there to help you. TransUnion is one of those tools you can use to help. It’s time you know about unlimited TransUnion Score and credit report updates. You can get emails, telling you of critical credit changes. You can also look at your comparison report from TransUnion to know what has changed and what has stayed the same.

Another way to manage your credit is to keep it secure from thieves. TransUnion can help you in this department with their 1-Touch Credit Lock. When someone has applied for credit in your name, you will get alerts sent straight to you. You can even rest easy with TransUnion’s ID theft resolution guidance and up to $1,000,000 in ID theft insurance. Identity theft is a scary thought, but in this day and age, we should always be protected.

You can even work hard on getting your credit score up by using the “Score Simulator.” It can help you see scenarios that “may” help you influence your credit. Their “Score Trending” feature allows you to see an interactive graph of your credit score history. You can even save more money in the future by using the personalized credit & debt analysis tool.  Know where you stand financially by checking out TransUnion’s calculators.
