Panama City Beach Panama City Beach makes a great destination for Accessible Travel for future consideration.

Home to 27 miles of sugar-white sand beaches and emerald green waters, Panama City Beach is a haven for those who are wheelchair bound or handicapped to experience a one-of-a-kind beach getaway.

Visitors of all ages will love exploring the gorgeous St. Andrews State Park beach with Beach Powered Mobility wheelchairs, available to the public free of charge. Bordered by the Gulf of Mexico to the south and the Grand Lagoon to the north, guests can roam one of Florida’s most popular state parks and beaches with freedom, independence, and comfort.

Those wishing to enjoy in the destination’s glistening emerald waters can also take advantage of Panama City Beach’s Mobi-Chair floating wheelchairs. Originally designed with the U.S. Marines Corps in mind for vehicular beach landing operations, Mobi-Chair allows users to float safely and comfortably on the water. Panama City Beach has purchased a number of Mobi-Chairs for visitors to use free of charge, which can be taken to any of the 100 or more beach access points available in the destination.

Those wishing to experience the pristine and uninhabited landscapes of nearby Shell Island can enjoy a Dolphin Tour onboard Captain Anderson’s Shell Island Express Ferry. 100% wheelchair accessible, guests can cruise onboard the Capt. Anderson III from the Grand Lagoon through St. Andrews Bay, spotting dolphins along the way, before arriving at the seven-mile-long wide stretch of barrier island.
