Today we’re going to talk about the importance of hearing protection for our next generations. Our planet is a noisy place to live. As adults, many of us have become accustomed to blocking out some of these invasive background noises. However, our babies and younger children can’t.

The Importance of Hearing Protection for Babies and Children

Attending loud events such as carnivals, fairs, flea markets and more, can be very loud to young and sensitive ears. I know this first hand, as my autistic son still struggles with loud places. Even a crowded restaurant, birthday party, and more can assault these little ears.

Did you know that at least ten MILLION adults in the United States suffers from Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL.) That number could even be a staggering forty million. NIHL can occur at any age, so chances are, many of these adults suffered this hearing loss as a youngster. Which is why hearing protection is so important.

HearMuffs by Lucid Audio

HearMuffs are advanced hearing protection for infants, babies and children. They block out loud environmental noises to keep their ears safe. They’re comfortable and made from safe, nontoxic materials.

The GrowBand means that your child’s HearMuffs will grow with them. They fit a wide range of head sizes, and as they grow, you can adjust their HearMuffs to fit them.

HearMuffs Soothe

You can also get HearMuffs to soothe your babies and children. HearMuffs Soothe block out noise like the standard version, but they also have a Soothe mode. When in this mode, your baby and children can still hear voices, while blocking out background noises. These are perfect for kids on the spectrum too with a sensitivity to noise.

HearMuffs Sounds

Much like the other two HearMuffs, Sounds blocks out background noises. However, these ones also play four different sounds. You can choose from white noise, babbling creek, heartbeat, or lullaby. Perfect for blocking out unwanted noise, yet soothing your child to sleep or relax.

My autistic son is eleven, and he uses his HearMuffs when he needs to escape noises, or decompress from the world.
