For most people, summer is a sign of warmer weather and glorious days spent in the park and on the river.

There’s no other time of year where you can spend your time relaxing outside in the garden and not get the chills (well, most of the time).
With all that time spent during lockdown doing up indoor and outdoor spaces, now is the time to make the most of them.
Here are some of our top tips for cultivating the perfect outdoor environment for those memorable fresco evenings.
Lighting
For both indoor and outdoor spaces, creating the perfect ambiance takes getting a few things right.
With the sun fading away, the right lighting can make or break the ambiance for your summer evening.
Whether you’re going for a party atmosphere or just want something more relaxing, lighting will be key.
If you know you’ll be up late, something a little brighter will keep the atmosphere going through the night.
If you’re snuggling up with some hot chocolate underneath your blanket, then some low-light fairy lights will fit the mood perfectly. Want to make things that bit more magical?
Adding some scented candles will keep the ambiance calm and relaxed.

Cosiness
Let’s be honest – the UK isn’t exactly known for its great weather.
Even though you can never trust the weather, there is something truly relaxing about feeling that cooling summer breeze in the evenings.
When those inevitable cold nights pop up in the middle of summer, don’t feel put off!
Make the most of things with some cozy blankets and pillows that keep you and your guests super comfy.

While some may not have the space for a firepit, if you do, it’s time to jump on the trend.

Larger areas especially will achieve a much more focused point for everyone to gather around. Humans have been gathering around fires telling stories for years and there’s no reason to stop it now!

Everybody has different phobias, but some of your guests might be more scared of insects and bugs than others.
Even so, there’s no doubt that everybody gets annoyed by mozzies and insects when they’re sitting outside on a balmy summer’s evening.
If you’ve got a BBQ going, the smoke will act as a natural repellent to stop those irritating insects, without the need for those smelly pre-made aerosol sprays.
That’s the perfect excuse for a barbeque in our eyes.
Also, a mini fan could be an easy solution to your bug problem too.
Simply place it at the end of the table and you’ll be able to keep those flies far away from your grub.
