How I Made My Credit Card WORK FOR ME!I Make My Credit Cards Work For Me!

Shopping is one of my favorite things to do, and when I get extra rewards for doing that, then it is a WIN WIN situation for me.  I love the holidays, but the way my bank account is set up it doesn’t love me back.  So this year I had to get a bit more creative and think out of the box. How can I have a fabulous holiday without going broke?  How can I afford to buy gifts this year?  These are questions that ask myself every year so why not figure it out and I did!

Now don’t get me wrong when I say I buy everything I can on my credit card that means I only buy what I can afford.  I have a budget for groceries, gas and of course my daily mocha but I pay on that credit card every week.  So no I’m not balling out and buying up everything, just items I need.  Also when I signed up for my Chase Freedom card this year, I spent $500 in 3 months, so I earned $150 cash back.  So make sure you look at credit card SIGN UP bonuses.

Here are 3 ways I earn CASH BACK REWARDS:

  1. Grocery Shopping
  2. Going Out To Eat
  3. My Coffee Fix

My Credit Card HACK for the HOLIDAY!

This year I’ve earned back over $500 to use for Holiday Shopping. I’ve been planning this all year, and it has worked out perfectly.  I use my CASH BACK CREDIT CARDS on my everyday purchases that I would normally pay cash for anyway. Now I don’t go out buying big purchases that I don’t need, no that is not the plan.  I buy my groceries, gas, and my prescription medicine on my Chase Credit Card because I earn 1.5% back on every purchase.  My rewards don’t expire so I cash out at the end of the year and buy gifts for my family.  My grandma used to tell me that every little penny helps and it is so true!

The biggest hack I do for holiday shopping is when I’m grocery shopping I also buy a $25-50 Gift Card (one card a month) then put it away for a holiday.

I have bought seven cards this year, and by doing this ahead of time, then I’m prepared when I need a gift for someone or during the holiday time give them away to family and friends.  Buying one gift card a month is not going to break my bank but can you imagine if I had to buy all 7 of those in December. Also, when I buy gift cards while grocery shopping I earn points back from that purchase too! My credit card works for me, and that is why I’m so happy I have it!
