Christmas is often a busy period for people, and for many, it’s a time where excess creeps into play on all too regular occasions.
There are Christmas parties, catch-ups with friends, and just the time off work where you think it’s a good idea to crack open a beer.
That’s, of course, not entirely great for your health. However, there are some great non-alcoholic alternatives these days to try, and they’re well worth stocking your fridge with over the coming months.
According to Sanctuary Lodge, a center that specializes in alcohol addiction recovery in Essex, the sale of non-alcohol beer has seen huge in recent years, with it enjoyed as an alternative for those who are in recovery from alcohol addiction, those who want to look after their health a little more, and just generally people who want a day off the booze.
So, if you’re considering throwing a few ice-cold non-alcoholic beers into the mix for your Christmas parties and festivities, here are five of the best available in the UK right now…

Northern Monk Hop Water
We’re starting slightly differently with Northern Monk’s Holy Hop Water.
The Leeds-based brewery have a number of non-alcoholic beers, such as Holy Faith and Holy Heaven, a 0% take on an imperial stout, but it’s their Holy Hop Water that’s really interesting.
Essentially, it’s hop-infused sparkling water, meaning it’s much lighter than drinking beer but still has the great flavour of it.
There are a variety of flavors, all having a fruity twist, and it’s certainly worth giving a go if you are looking for something a bit different.
Infinite Session IPA
Infinite has really raised the bar regarding non-alcoholic beer, with many experts describing their session as the best 0% IPA around.
It’s hard to argue with that, with a really hoppy finish and plenty of citrus flavors in there.
It’s bold, is low-calorie, and is widely available too, with it easy to pick up a four-pack in your local Sainsbury’s.
Big Drop Brewing Co. Paradiso Citra IPA
Big Drop is another brand that specializes in non-alcoholic alternatives, with their Paradiso Citra IPA up there with their best brews.
As you can probably guess by the name, it’s a tropical affair and has a great taste, very reminiscent of a traditional IPA.
It’s one of a number of excellent options from Big Drop, another brand that has really paved the way for non-alcoholic craft hitting the mainstream and onto supermarket shelves.
Nirvana Brewery Kosmic Stout
Of course, during the winter, many of us want those rich stouts that warm us inside.
Nirvana Brewery has a fantastic Kosmic Stout that has a deep, roasted malt character with the subtle hints of chocolate and coffee that you’d expect with such a beer.
It’s velvety smooth, full-bodied, and the perfect winter warmer.
Lucky Saint Unfiltered Lager
Finally, we’re going with one of the most readily available 0% lagers around, Lucky Saint. We talk about game-changers in the industry, and Lucky Saint is certainly one of them.
You’ll find their 0% lager in most pub fridges these days, while some pubs and bars even have it on draft these days too.
We’ll certainly drink to that!
