Finding Sustainable Luxury Within The USAs Shores

There has been no lull in demand when it comes to luxury travel, but there is a new aspect to how Americans want to enjoy vacations – sustainability.

According to CNN, travelers now deeply care about sustainability but want this to be balanced against their ability to go out and enjoy luxury locations.

This is increasingly difficult, especially when considering the tough-to-balance impact of air travel and maintaining a hotel.

Finding Sustainable Luxury Within The USAs Shores

Despite that, eco-resorts throughout the USA are providing a window into luxury, providing that chance to enjoy sustainable exuberance without ever leaving the country.

Heading to The Hamptons

One of the most well-known luxury stretches of the USA is The Hamptons.

Famed for their beautiful scenery, enjoying hot, sandy summers and cold, snowy winters, the spits that form the region are also geographically close to the luxury of New York City.

Now, The Hamptons are taking on a distinctly eco-friendly edge.

The Guardian highlighted one vote that would seek the closure of a super-exclusive private airport near East Hampton, reducing emissions in the local area and preserving the local beauty and serenity of the town.

Furthermore, activists have been very productive in pursuing climate goals in the region, given the close attention that any climate change will give to the near-sea-level shores of the area.

Luxury is in great supply; the hotels in The Hamptons are some of the best in the world.

Into the city

Up the road from The Hamptons, and you’ll find a NYC hotel that might not initially sound like it has luxury roots.

The EuroNews.com featured 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge overlooks a perfect panorama of the Manhattan skyline, and is that rarest of things – a city-based sustainable hotel.

Promoting all of the luxury that you’ll find in hotels across the rest of the city, including on the illustrious central island, 1 Hotel is a standing testament to the ability of luxury to also be eco-friendly.

Into the wild

At the other end of the scale is the Reserve Vermejo, New Mexico.

Created by CNN founder Ted Turner, the National Geographic laud this luxury hotel as being not just a health-and-wellness focused luxury resort, but a sustainable haven for the likes of endangered animals.

Elk, black bears and mountain lions call the ranch home, and a dedicated team of biologists are continually working to ensure that the reservation is up to scratch and providing that vital job of caring for endangered species.

This is a huge benefit to go alongside a stay in the area, and also something to get the family interested in.

Knowing you are contributing to a genuine ecosystem repair is something to feel good about while on vacation.

Luxury travel is in high demand, but so are eco-friendly options. By digging into the hotels you can visit, you’ll find hidden sustainable gems.

Spending on a vacation is something to be cherished – knowing the planet is benefiting along the way, even more so.
