Fall is such a wonderful season: the weather is crisp, pumpkin recipes come by the handful and leaves go through beautiful color changes.
My husband and I make an effort to go on date nights every so often. It’s nice to have a few hours to ourselves, enjoying each other’s company. During autumn, there are many things to enjoy indoors and outdoors. It’s really fun to get creative with “date nights” during this season. Here are some of my ideas:
View Fall Foliage
Viewing fall foliage not only makes for a budget-friendly date but is also a great excuse to spend some time in the great outdoors. Ask around or do some research to find out where the scenery is best in your area.
Decorate Pumpkins
If staying indoors is more of your thing, then make it a night of decorating pumpkins together! You can go all-out and carve different faces, sceneries, shapes, etc. If you want to stay clear of the carving, you can also paint and draw your designs. Pumpkins are fantastic décor pieces during this season: you can spruce up your home’s entryway or place little ones on shelves and tables.
Take a Hay Ride
Hay rides are the epitome of the autumn season. If somewhere in your area offers them, then I suggest you take full advantage. The ride will give you and your partner a chance to sit back and enjoy all of the beauty that fall has to offer.
Have a Picnic
Depending on where you’re located, fall weather could be quite mild. In many areas, having a picnic during this time of the year doesn’t involve burning under the sun’s strong rays. I love the idea of having a simple picnic as a fall date. You can sit under a tree, enjoy a calm breeze and snuggle up while enjoying a few sandwiches.
Cook and Bake Together
I am all about autumn-themed dishes and desserts. Make your date-night a cooking/baking session and whip up a bowl of butternut squash soup or some fresh apple pie. It’s always fun to be a team in the kitchen: take a night to experiment with new flavors and recipes together.
