Do Your Kids Need A Good Book? Try “Annie B., Made For TV” For A Funny And Entertaining Read

I know I’ve mentioned this before, but summer is almost here. Once school is out, I know from experience that it’s tempting for kids to want to forget about all homework and reading. But, I do believe reading throughout the summer is so important. It keeps children entertained while giving them all the benefits of reading (my parents always told me reading would help improve my writing and spelling). So, if you’re looking for a good read to add to your children’s list of books to read, check out “Annie B., Made For TV,” by Amy Dixon.

Annie 1

This is a fun, entertaining, and funny book.  I laughed and gasped aloud while reading this book! And, I don’t laugh aloud with too many books.

The book is about Annie Brown, an 11-year-old girl who is sweet and very creative, but who also doesn’t always have it easy. She seems like one of the awkward kids who tries, but often doesn’t succeed. But, she has a best friend, Savannah. And, Savannah is a sort of polar opposite of Annie. She’s gorgeous and probably successful at everything she does, which is sometimes difficult for Annie. It’s especially difficult because Annie has to sit and watch Savannah have it all, while she doesn’t.

However, one thing Annie is good at is being a wrinventor. What in the world is a wrinventor? It’s a writer-inventor. And, throughout the book, Annie shares with the reader her various inventions that she displays in her written commercials. Talk about spontaneous creativity—Annie has it.

Then, one day Savannah shares the exciting news that there are auditions for “The Cat’s Meow,” a web show “For kids and by kids . . . (that) will feature news, events, (and) products . . . ” (p. 49). This is right up Annie’s alley!! And, it’s up Savannah’s alley, too (since she’s good at everything). What will become of the auditions? You’ll need to read to find out!

Amy Dixon is also the author of “Marathon Mouse,” “Sophie’s Animal Parade,” and “Maurice the Unbeastly.” Her books thus far have received rave reviews on Amazon, and I think her new book will get great reviews, too.

This book will be available June 5, 2018. You can pre-order a copy through Amazon. The book will be available on the Kindle for $9.99 and in hardcover for $16.99. I really do recommend this book. It reminds me of many memorable books that I read and enjoyed as a child.
