April 11th is National Pet Day so Time to Pamper them!
With the summer season slowly making its way towards us, we celebrate certain special holidays with our families. Mother’s Day and Father’s day is coming up in the next few months. In our family, each of these special days means a huge family gathering where we all show our appreciation for our parents. I like that we, as a nation, have set aside time to make sure we say “thank you” and “I love you” to the people in our life that mean the most to us. But, what about our pets? I was thrilled to find out that there is a National Pet Day. It started in 2006 and it is a special day we can show our appreciation to the furry friends that keep us sane all year-long!
I have a kitty and I just love him to pieces. He brings such joy and comfort to my family’s life. I love how we are always welcomed home and when we need someone to cuddle with he always volunteers.
Pets have an important role in our lives. The depend on us to take care of them, while we depend on them to always be there to make us smile. Our pets make us forget about the stress at work or the burdens of finances. They are a friend when you need it and continually remind you that life can be simpler. Eat, sleep, love. That’s all you really need. Well, and the occasional treat is always nice too.
Here are some ways you can pamper your pet this National Pet Day!
- Buy them a new accessory! Nothing shows your furry friend that you love them more than getting them something new. A toy, a pet bed, or something you know they would enjoy would make sure they realize how much you love them. My kitty loves his new pet bed. We have hardwood floors on our main level and this little bed makes sure there is always a warm spot just for my kitty.
2. Give them a special treat! Cats and Dogs each have that special treat you just can’t resist giving them. My kitty loves his treats and today I am going to make sure he gets plenty of them!
3. Show them extra love! Give your pet a few more scratches behind the ears or spend a longer time playing with them. Take some photos and post them to social media to show your friends what a great pet they are.
4. Give them their own organized space. The easiest way to show your pet you care is to give them an area of their very own. I made this corner for my kitty so that all of his food is organized and together. We also bought this kitty water fountain so that he always has running water!
So this April 11 don’t forget to pamper your pet a little. Show them you care and that you are thankful for all the smiles, laughs and giggles they give you all throughout the year.
