After School Snacking Made Easy and Healthy

I remember coming home from school starving! In high school, I always ended up with the earlier lunch period, and our bus ride was an hour and a half long. If I forgot to pack a snack for the ride home, I wanted one before my backpack was even put down. If you can relate to this with your own kids, then this post is for you. Here are some products that make after-school snacking easy AND healthy.

After School Snacking Easy and Healthy

Whether you work, or you’re just busy when your kids get home from school, you want a snack that is quick, easy, and healthy is an added bonus. The best foods are things that kids can just grab for themselves, and that isn’t super messy. Here are some of the foods I keep on hand for my boys.

Fruit Rolls and Snacks

My kids are eleven and twenty-one but they both still love fruit rolls and snacks. Their favorites happen to be Welch’s. Liam’s favorite is the Berry Fruit Rolls, while Bran prefers the Tropical Fruit. I like that they’re convenient and good for them too. They’re made from real fruit and contain real vitamins.  What they don’t have is nasty preservatives or Gluten.

Fruit in a Pouch

Bran is huge on fruit pouches. He’s had every kind on the market. His current go to is from Munk Pack. Their Oatmeal Fruit Squeezes come in five yummy flavors. He loves that they’re more filling than most fruit squeezes. I love that they’re good for him.

Grab Some Granola

Another great snack for families on the go is Viki’s Granola. They have five fantastic flavors to choose from. You can also get bigger family sized bags, or smaller On-The-Go packs.

Salty Treats

I love popcorn. My favorite is from The Little Kernel. Those tiny pieces are so cute, but better yet, they taste amazing! It comes in six flavors with no artificial ingredients. A great tasting snack that’s good for you too!

If you’re looking for another healthy but naturally salty option, then try Gaea Olives. They have them in convenient snack packs. Perfect for school lunches, and after-school snack breaks.

My kids are addicted to eggs!

One of my boys’ favorite snacks is hard-boiled eggs. Liam will only eat the whites, but Bran will devour them all, in any way. I just got the T-fal Ingenio Egg Slicer. Branden had to try it out today. He boiled a bunch of eggs and went to town. He loves it!

Don’t forget quick refreshments!

Okay, so you have a bunch of healthy grab and go snacks. Now you need some beverages too. Liam’s go to is AquaBalls. They’re naturally flavored water without sugar and preservatives. He loves the characters on them too!

My oldest boy enjoys Sparkling Ice. He adores all of their flavors. My husband and I both enjoy them too, and we keep a full selection in our refrigerator. Best part is, ZERO calories!
