Las Vegas is known as the Entertainment Capital of the World for all good reasons.

There are approximately 60 casinos in the whole city – about 30 of them only in the Strip area.

The city also has a vibrant night scene, full of bars, restaurants, and clubs.

If it’s your first trip to Las Vegas, don’t worry. It’s fine to feel overwhelmed by the number of options and attractions.

Check our bucket list, and make the best of your time there.

Bucket List

Plan your itinerary ahead of your journey. Otherwise, you’ll risk feeling lost on the first day.

Choose a starting point, and explore the area around you before commuting elsewhere, especially if you don’t have much time.

Here are our top six suggestions for things to do over a Las Vegas long weekend.

Unfortunately, it’s a concise list that doesn’t make justice to the several hidden gems in Sin City.

Still, if you manage to cover this list, at least partially, you’ll have a good grasp of what this city is about. Be ready to crave for a second visit, though. Enjoy!

Las Vegas Boulevard – The Strip

The Las Vegas Boulevard, commonly called “The Strip” is one of the most iconic places in the city.

It has more casinos than any other part of the city, and some famous ones are there.

There, you’ll find the Bellagio and its dancing fountains, the extravagant Caesars Palace, and more. Don’t spend too much time there, though. There’s still a big city to explore.

Freemont Street

The most historical street in the city is named after its founder, the explorer John Charles Freemont. Fremont Street was also the first street to be paved there in 1925.

It’s a pedestrian street, covered by a metallic structure full of lights and color, giving it a club-like vibe. You’ll find plenty of bars and casinos there, too.

The Berlin Wall

How about a chance of seeing an actual piece of the Berlin Wall? You can find one in the men’s toilet at the Main Street Station, and visitors are actually encouraged to urinate on it.

The piece is protected by glass, though. Women visitors can ask to be escorted by a staff member to see it.

Revisit the Prohibition Days

Head to the Mob Museum for an authentic experience in an illegal distillery from the 20s.

There’s an underground passage in the museum, where visitors can only access by saying a password.

Once in, visitors are treated with classic cocktails and a quite realistic Roaring Twenties vibe.

Secret Pizza

There’s a narrow corridor at the Cosmopolitan that many visitors take for granted. However, it might be your best call at late night if you feel hungry.

There’s an entrance with no signs or banners on this corridor, only Frank Sinatra’s LP covers. This entrance leads to a small pizzeria in the best New York style.

The place has no official name, and it’s called “Pizzeria”.

The Valley of Fire

Visiting the Valley of Fire takes more time, but it’s worth every minute of the adventure.

It’s located in the Valley of Fire National Park and has Red Rock Canyon-like tracks, petroglyphs, and rich geology.

Go to Gorilla Rock, Elephant Rock, Rainbow Vista, and Atlatl Rock for the valley’s best views.

There and Back Again

Some attractions may take more time to be thoroughly enjoyed than others, but you can be sure of one thing: only one visit won’t be enough to see everything!

It makes your planning even more critical. It’s also crucial to prepare for your journey, like getting documents and tickets together, and more importantly, your budget.

Have a great time in Vegas!
