Combatting Oily Skin With Hard Candy Products

I’ve always had really oily skin, which makes wearing a lot of makeup an obstacle. I love my eyeshadows, eyeliners, blushes, mascaras, and so on, but sometimes that amount of product makes my skin so shiny that by the end of the day my makeup has significantly melted off. I’ve tried BB creams, I’ve tried foundations, I’ve tried almost everything to fix this problem, however nothing has worked. It wasn’t until I discovered the Fast & Fabulous Makeup Setting Spray and Translucent Finishing Powder that my makeup routine has not only transformed to constantly include these products, but my skin looks fresh all day, and my makeup no longer fades.

Trying out these products, I was rather skeptical. As I stated before, oil absorbing products never really impressed me. I decided to have an open mind and give it a try. I washed my face with an exfoliator, and began putting my makeup on as I normally do. First I filled in my eyebrows, then I blended my eyeshadows, then I drew on my eyeliner, and then I used a bunch of mascara. Afterwards, I took the Translucent Finishing Powder, and with a giant fluffy brush smoothed the product across my face.

I was nervous about this step. I mean, the powder was WHITE, and I just got back from the beach so I’m pretty tan. However, just as the product promised, the white powder went on invisibly, and as I applied more and more my pores seemed to shrink, and my skin was not only matte, but smooth and soft. I was so elated with the instant change in the look of my skin, but curious as to how it would last throughout the day. I work as a cashier where our building isn’t air-conditioned, AND I’m forced to wear jeans, so I sweat a lot and by the end of the night have a shiny face that resembles a disco ball. The powder significantly reduced the shine in my oily skin, and I only reapplied once on my break in the timespan of my six hour shift.

At the end of applying my makeup during my routine, I also used the Makeup Setting Spray. I was extremely excited to use this because I found that after either a long day at school or work–or both–my eyeshadow tends to sometimes collect in the crease. Normally I just smooth it back out and it’s fine, but I was curious if the setting spray would prevent this from happening. I closed my eyes, and held the bottle 2-3 inches from my face. Then I sprayed it a couple of times, and let it dry. After work, I looked in the mirror and saw that the makeup actually did stop my eyeshadow from gathering in the crease! It also stopped my eyeliner from fading, and kept my overall look as bold and daring as it appeared prior to work when I originally put it on.

(Sorry the close ups are kind of scary… haha. But below are pictures of my everyday makeup routine including the Hard Candy products.)

Overall, these products worked extremely well and I was very pleased with the results. Both products are affordable (only $6), and reduced my oily skin while allowing my makeup to look better for a longer period of time. These products will definitely become an addition in my daily makeup routine.
