8 Things About Pregnancy That No One Tells You

     1. Heartburns

You might be on the receiving end of some nasty heartburns. This is because due to the hormones, the valve between your stomach and oesophagus relaxes, causing stomach acid to pass into the oesophagus. This might cause bad episodes of heartburn.

     2. Sex is now different

Now that you’re pregnant, sex is different. You might feel uncomfortable, pain or just not feeling it. Your husband might also not be in the mood seeing how your child is inside your belly. Not only that, you might now even want to touch your husband or allow him to touch you. 

     3. Highs and Lows

Pregnancy might make you feel alone, like you’re in this journey by yourself. On top of that, the pregnancy hormones will fluctuate causing your highs to be extremely high, and lows to be extremely lows. 

     4. Acne

Once again, your pregnancy hormones at work. It might stimulate your sebaceous glands which can cause acne. Oh the horror! You also can’t use many types of medication to treat those acne because it may affect your child. Best speak to your doctor if you have a bad episode of acne!

     5. Constipation

Progesterone relaxes your uterus so you won’t have early contractions. But this means that it also affects your large intestines. Once that happens, you will face the problem of constipation. Do eat lots of high fibre foods to counter this problem.

     6. Sore Breasts

You will find that your breasts will start to be sore. This is nature’s way of preparing your breast for breast feeding. As your breast prepares for work, blood flow and fat production will make you feel sore at your chest area.

     7. Frequent Urination

You will find that you will start to pee so much, it’s actually irritating! This is because of the increased of blood flow to kidney area which makes your kidney super-efficient. As your kidney becomes more efficient, they work faster to clear the waste (urine) from your bidy.

     8. Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are now very common. Your constipation coupled with increased pressure on the veins near your anus causes you to develop hemorrhoids. They can be very painful and can cause a lot of unpleasantness. Do remember to take high fibre foods to counter this problem!

So there you have it, many things about pregnancy that no one tells you about. Whatever it is, take it in your stride and try to enjoy the process. After all, the rainbow at the end of the storm will bring you a wonderful bundle of joy.
