7 Hacks For Revitalising Your Hair

For a lot of us, our hair really is our crowning glory.

It can complete an outfit, make us feel more comfortable in our skin, and can generally make us look better if we’re being honest.

Though without the proper care, and making a few routine mistakes here and there, we might be damaging our hair, leaving it to look dry, flat, and potentially even breaking entirely.

And if you’re dealing with this, there’s a good chance you’re going to do just about anything you can to get on top of it.

7 Hacks For Revitalising Your Hair

In this article, we will take a look at seven hacks to revitalise your hair that aren’t all too complex and will make sure you’re looking your best for that upcoming event.

1. Be Sure to Let it Grow

One of our first hacks for revitalising your hair is letting it grow out.

This will give you more to work with when it comes to styling it, and if you give your hair the chance to grow out of its frizzy and damaged state, you’re on the right track to revitalizing it.

Added to this, longer hair can generally mask any damage as you’re able to style it in a way that ‘hides’ any damage – half up, half down for example.

Added to the age-old trick of boosting your intake of egg, pumpkin seeds, and sweet potato you could try some growth products like the ones that Pump Haircare offers to really boost the growth.

2. Omega-3’s Are a Godsend

Keeping in line with our tip above, it’s always good to make changes to your diet to better your hair

You’ll be in the green if you boost your omega-3’s and in just a few weeks you might see your hair’s regrowth looking a tonne better.

For this hack, we suggest taking a look at increasing your intake of tuna and salmon, but also your seeds or nuts as well, and you’ll be seeing those shimmering locks return in no time.

3. Do Not Overwash

When our hair starts to look a little worse for wear, it can be our first instinct to wash the life out of it, and though this might seem like the right thing to do, it’s certainly going to impact your glowing hair in a bad way!

It’s best to wash just one or two times a week when we’re trying to repair our hair.

We need to hang on to the sebum that comes from our scalp, as this is what will keep our hair looking and feeling shiny and soft.

When we wash too often, we strip all of the sebum from our hair, leaving us with dry, frizzing and rather flat looking hair.

4. Wrap-dry Where You Can

It isn’t a secret that our hair doesn’t like heat all that much, and with that in mind, it’s good to keep your heat-treating activities to one or two days a week at maximum.

With that in mind, air drying isn’t the best either, and so it’s good to consider a wrap rather than letting your hair sit and air dry!

In fact, air-drying often results in damage that is similar to blow-drying.

5. Don’t Blow Dry

Going hand in hand with our tip above, it’s important to keep your heat drying to a minimum where you can, and ideally never blow dry your hair with the dryer on a hot setting.

We know that sometimes there is no other choice, and so setting your blow dryer to the lowest heat is best here, and making sure to add plenty of heat protection is a good habit to get into as well.

6. Use Your Oils

As we know and have mentioned above, the natural oils that find their way into our hair are a saving grace when it comes to trying to revitalise our hair.

However, sometimes these oils need a little bit of a helping hand, and so argon oil and coconut oil might be your best bet here.

You will see a shimmer appearing quite quickly when argon and coconut oil come into play, and this means you’ll find your hair revitalised in no time at all.

7. Protect from Sun Damage

To our final tip, it’s always good to wear a hat or keep out of the sun where you can.

Just like how the sun can cause skin damage, it can also majorly damage our hair too, causing dryness, colour change, and splitting

With this, we suggest always wearing a hat where you can and if the damage has already been done, you can use aloe vera oils and rubs to reverse some of this damage.
