We can argue that healthy pancakes are just as delicious as classic ones, or suggest fruit toppings, but not on Shrove Tuesday! Because this is a day when you enjoy the best pancakes on the planet, completely guilt-free. Hey, there is only one day in a year where you get to honor flapjacks, so do it with style – by combining them with Nutella. Find your favorite easy pancake recipe and get cooking!

  1. Spread the cream

The easiest and simplest way to devour a huge stack of flapjacks is to simply spread Nutella over each one. I know, it’s not science, but most of us have no patience to restrain, and eat at least half of the stack while still cooking the other half! This combo can be complemented with fruits like bananas or strawberries, but peanut butter is by far the best ‘third party’ option here!

  1. Add Nutella to the batter

I suggest that you pick any chocolate pancake recipe and replace the suggested amount of chocolate chips with Nutella. Or, just pour the desired amount of Nutella into the batter. You can’t go wrong even if you use the whole jar!

  1. Capture Nutella in the middle

Add the cream while cooking. This is very easy to make with oven-baked Dutch baby puffs. Pour half of the batter in the pan and bake. When it is halfway done spread the cream, then pour the rest of the batter and return to the oven. When the puff is done, sift some powdered sugar on top for extra sweetness.

  1. Nutella Pancake Cake

Alternate layers of fluffy discs and Nutella make the perfect birthday cake (or a cake for any other occasion) as far as I am concerned. Whip some cream to frost your cake, stick a candle, blow and devour. I get it if you don’t want to share with your guests, so make this a birthday breakfast in bed!

  1. Make banana sushi

Spread Nutella on a pancake, place a whole banana onto the pancake and roll it up, then chop into small pieces. Why not dip each sushi piece in some additional Nutella cream? It is a well-known fact that you can’t have too much Nutella.

  1. Pancake Nutella kebabs

If you still feel guilty for ditching the fruits even though it’s Pancake Day, here is a chance to put them to use. Cook some silver dollar pancakes and spread Nutella over them. Place the tiny flapjacks on a skewer, then add your favorite fruit. This can be easily done by slicing regular flapjacks or, even better, Dutch baby pancakes. Try how deep the skewer can sink in a jar full with Nutella. Don’t worry, the fruit makes this delight healthier!

  1. Add Nutella to whipped cream

Any pancake recipe works with whipped cream topping. But we won’t settle for regular whipped cream. Oh no! We’ll add Nutella (at least a tablespoon, maximum a jar!) into it and transform it into a simple ad delicious chocolate filling.
