Throw Your Jewelry Box Away

Throw Your Jewelry Box Away

Every women needs a safe place to store her diamonds and her pearls. Jewelry storage isn’t just about security, though. It’s also about convenience; you want a place where you can easily grab the piece you want, when you want it. It’s about pizazz, too; having a jewelry storage solution that underlines the flash and the beauty of your pieces can help keep you excited about your jewelry collection

Sometimes, a conventional jewelry box just doesn’t cut it. The question is, what other options do you have for jewelry storage and display? You might be surprised by how many unique options there are out there.

Different Options for Jewelry Storage

Some options to consider:

Store necklaces, bracelets, and rings on sculptures. Get some three-dimensional pieces you can place on your dresser or vanity table, then adorn your favorite pieces across them. Anything from antlers to pyramid shapes can be striking ways to store jewelry.

Get some decorative teacups. Really, any small, lavishly decorated cups or bowls can make great options for storing different kinds of jewelry. Get a few different ones and use them to separate your jewelry by material, color, or type—all your emeralds in one teacup, for instance, or rings in one with earrings in another.

Reuse kitchen storage items. Along the same lines, why not get some muffin tins? Some ramekins? Or even some ice cube trays? Any of these can make for bold jewelry storage choices—and they are highly functional, to boot.

Use a cork board. You’ll want to make it look nice, of course. You may cover it with some type of fabric, and then put some decorative nails or pins in it to hold up your different pieces of jewelry. Hanging your pieces from a decorative board is a great way to keep everything on display.

Just use a drawer. You can go to most any home décor shop and find some lovely drawer trays and inlays, all of which can help you turn a bureau drawer into an ideal jewelry storage area.

Store your jewelry in your custom closet. Custom closet design can open up all kinds of possibilities for storage. If you have custom closet work done, make sure you tell your designer that you’d like to be left with some space for jewelry.

Put hooks in your wall. Hide them behind a pull-out mirror, if you like. Alternatively, bars and hooks on the backside of your closet door can make for great jewelry storage options—as well as scarves, bags, and shoes.

There’s no wrong way to store your jewelry. Just look for a method that you like, and that helps you feel excited about the jewelry in your collection!
