MedCenter has helped my husband out greatly. He is on a lot of different medications and sometimes he forgets to take them. I work so I am not home all the time to remind him. MedCenter has made this easier for him.
MedCenter works on a tri-date verification system. Research has proven that the confusion can occur as to what day of the week it is, once you retire and the daily norm is no longer dependent on a work week. Due to this, the importance is on the DATE rather than the DAY. The DATE is located on each pillbox and pill cavity. The visual display of the clock as well as audibly during the alert messages. Repetition of the DATE helps ensure that the proper medication is being taken.
One of the really nice features is that you can fix an entire month’s medicine at one time. This is really helpful if you are helping a family member that doesn’t live with you. Helps keep their medication together and in one spot.
The system is designed to place the pill boxes with the green side up, showing they are loaded and ready. The different colors helps you know at a glance what is going on.
You can set up to 4 daily alarms, depending on how often you need to take your medication. My husband only takes his medicine twice a day, in the morning and before bedtime. When we get up in the morning I take the daily pill box out and place it beside the clock in the “Today’s Pills” tray. When the alarm goes off, it will say “Good Morning! Please take your morning ( afternoon, evening) pills for the 20th.” The date not the day. Press the red “Alarm Acknowledged” button to confirm you have taken your pills. The talking alarm clock with let you know when the next daily dose is due.
At bedtime, return the pill box to the stand with the red end up to show that you have taken your daily medication. You can press the green “Talk/Time” button at any time for notification of date and time. Press the blue “Alarm Clock” any time to find the upcoming alarms. It is easy to operate and set 1 – 4 alarms, date and time.
I feel better now that we use MedCenter and that my husband is taking all of his medicine, even when I’m at work.
