My son isn’t big on reading to himself, unless the book is full of pictures, and enough different things to keep his interest. When it comes to learning about animals, he’s all ears. So when I got him this new book from Jack Hanna, he was stoked.
Does Your Child Love Animals and Learning?
If so then Jack Hanna’s Awesome Animal Almanac is perfect for them. It’s chock full of amazing animals from A to Z. Everything you ever wanted to know about Aardvarks, Bald Eagles, the Blobfish, Zebras and more. It’s not broken down by alphabetical animals, but by groups of animals alphabetically.
Arctic, Bipedal, Endangered, Hooves, Nocturnal, Omnivorous, Venomous, and more. It even has a Zombie section. Did you know that parasitic flies like to lay their eggs in honeybees. As they hatch into grubs, they feed on the honeybees from the inside out. Then they control the bee and make it leave its hive to find the grub a place to emerge as a fly.
The index shows all the animals in the book in alphabetical order. You child can find their favorites, and search for the part about that specific animal. The pictures inside Jack Hanna’s Awesome Animal Almanac are simply fantastic. So bright, full of color, and just wonderful. The baby Harp seal is so darn precious, I just want to kiss it!
What Liam thinks
First of all, this book is right up his alley. Instead of being about one thing, it’s about many, so it really keeps his interest. Also, he really does love animals! He pores over the pages, and then yells out facts to me. He loves a book that is full of facts, so this one is mint in his eyes. It has over two hundred animals to learn about. Best of all, he’s learning. He’s engaged, he’s reading, and he’s having fun. You can’t ask for more than that.
Perfect for young and old
If your child can’t read yet, it’s still a great book. You can read the facts to them as they enjoy the images of all of the animals. I’m almost forty and I too have enjoyed this book. They say you learn something new everyday. In this book, you’ll learn a lot!
