I suggest purchasing a pound cake from the deli at the grocery store to make assembling it a cinch. 

This dessert is so easy to put together even the children can have fun helping assemble the layers of cool whip and fresh summer berries.

The recipe for this trifle uses strawberries and blueberries but you can always customize it by adding raspberries, blackberries, etc.

This fun and easy Red White and Blue Trifle recipe uses fresh fruit to create a delicious dessert your family will love.

All you need is:

  • some pound cake
  • strawberries 
  • blueberries 
  • cool whip

Wash and dry all of the fruit.

Destem and cut the strawberries in half and set them aside.

Sliced Pound Cake

Begin by cutting the pound cake into slices and then into cubes.

Gently place a layer of cut-up pound cake in the bottom of a trifle dish.

Then place a layer of cool whip.

Next, take the strawberries and place them in a decorative way, with the cut strawberry half placed against the glass and a mixture of the strawberries and blueberries in the middle.

Add another layer of cool whip and another layer of mixed berries.

Finish by placing another layer of cool whip and the rest of the berries on top.

In less than 15 minutes, you’ll have a patriotic berry dessert that’s sure to become a new favorite!

By using store bought pound cake you save at least an hour of time.

Simply assemble the trifle and place saran wrap over the top and keep stored in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Instructions

  1. You can make your own pound cake or just buy one from the deli to make it easy. Then cut it into slices and then in cubes.
  2. Then in a trifle dish put a layer of pound cake.
  3. Second a layer of cool whip.
  4. Then strawberries and blueberries.
  5. Finish with cool whip and berries on top.
