Finding the Right Book to Read

Finding a book that you’ll actually enjoy can be tricky since there are so many subjects and authors out there. It can be daunting to see an entire shelf filled with books and know you need to find the one novel you’ll enjoy. That’s why I’ve come up with these tips to help you find the right book to read.

Know What You Like

If you’re looking for a new book to read, you’ll want to know a little more about what you like. Start by deciding if you like to read fiction or non-fiction. Depending on which of these you choose, you can then narrow it down further by picking a genre. Personally, I love reading fiction, especially sci-fi and fantasy novels. I also enjoy mysteries and historical fiction. When I’m looking for a book, I tend to gravitate to the sections that have these topics.

Find an Author You Enjoy

Once you know what reading topics you like, you can start looking for an author you enjoy. Once I find an author I like, I end up reading everything they have. This way, I know that I’ll enjoy their books!

Look for a Series

I also love looking for a book series when I’m trying to find something to read. That way, I have more than one novel I can read if really enjoy the first book.

My Recommendation

One book I’ve read recently that I would highly recommend is Protogenesis by Alysia Helming. Not only is it interesting, it’s also well-written, making it an easy read. Although this is the first novel written by Alysia Helming, it won’t be the last. Protogenesis is Book One of the Protogena Chronicles, so I know that there will be more for me to read. I can’t wait!
