How To Make Money Doing Surveys

It’s 2022 and I would be surprised if you didn’t know you can earn money online by completing surveys.

Costing you nothing more than some amount of your free time, you can give out your honest opinion to different brands or researchers while earning some cash in the process.

I’ll be honest with you. You aren’t going to earn life-changing money or gain financial freedom overnight by filling surveys.

But the extra cash you earn can pay for some small expenses or even provide a small but significant financial boost when things are really tight.

2022 will be remembered as the year of global inflation and with the prices of products and services reaching all-time highs, earning some extra cash can only help.

Some people are skeptical about online surveys and see them as a time-wasting endeavor. Some even think you can earn money from surveys.

The truth is that online surveys are legitimate businesses and many companies are willing to pay for consumers’ feedback. But there are several scammers in the scene and you should only deal with reputable survey sites.

How To Make Money Doing Surveys

Below are some tips for making money completing online surveys:

  • Open a New Email Account

I always recommend you open a new email account. The reason for this is simple – to avoid your personal email getting clogged with dozens of emails depending on how many survey websites you sign up with.

Survey sites tend to send out lots of emails. You’ll find this out after signing up with a few. And unless you have a different email to handle this influx of messages, you may miss important personal emails or have to sift through several emails to find priority mails.

  • Sign Up With as Many Survey Sites as Possible

It’s always advisable to sign up with as many reputable sites as possible. This way, you get to find out those that work for you and those that don’t work so well.

Also, you don’t know when you’ll qualify for a survey as each survey has its own criteria. So, if you don’t qualify for surveys on a particular website at a particular time, the situation may not be the same on other survey sites.

If you are bilingual or have another language other than English as your first language, some survey sites may translate the survey to your preferred language. This means Spanish speakers can have their survey in Spanish translation. Pretty cool, right?

  • Complete Surveys in Your Spare Time

Are you having a random downtime during the day? Or perhaps you are lounging on the couch in the evening. The best time to fill out surveys is during your spare time.

You are doing them to earn some extra cash and you shouldn’t let surveys interfere with your normal day-to-day activities.

Most surveys usually last between 1 minute to 5 minutes. Longer surveys tend to have better payouts.

And taking some time out of your spare time to fill surveys for the chance of some extra money isn’t going to hurt anybody.

  • Be Honest and Have Fun

Personally, I see surveys as more than just the opportunity to earn some money.

They also offer you the chance to give your opinions on matters that interest you or on products and services that you use. So, when signing up for survey companies, provide the correct information.

Don’t claim you are a 30-year-old dad when you are, in fact, a 60-year-old grandma.

Companies may not seem to be paying a lot but they are still paying for honest feedback from particular groups of people.

If you don’t qualify for a survey, there are many others in the pipeline that you’ll qualify for. Some survey sites also try to weed out dishonest people by asking previously answered questions randomly.

Being honest about surveys means you get surveys that are relevant to you, surveys that you are actually INTERESTED in.

And this means you can have fun while filing them. Yeah, you read that right. Surveys are supposed to be fun. If you are going to spend your spare time doing something, you better be having some fun while doing it.

  • Know The Red Flags to Look Out for

While you can easily find the most reputable survey sites with just a quick online search, it never hurts to know how to spot fraudulent or fake survey sites.

Perhaps, the most obvious red flags about fake or fraudulent survey sites is the big payout they offer.

No one is going to gain financial freedom completing surveys and big payouts are a ruse to lure in people and steal their private information.

Be wary of survey companies asking for confidential or personal information. This also applies to those that charge weekly or monthly to have surveys available to you.
