This is an emergency contact device for someone who might need to contact a loved one in an emergency and not be able to get to their phone. Note that the device itself needs a modern smart phone with active cellular service within about 75 feet. It will not work without the phone being active and charged.
This device has helped give us both a bit more piece of mind with us being so far apart. It helps me to know that if she is in trouble, she can reach me to help her get ahold of 911 and then anyone else.
V.ALRT requires an Android or iOS device that supports Bluetooth 4.0. Modern phones and a few versions back are A-OK. Detailed setup instructions are included in the box, and are relatively simple for a caregiver to follow.
Love that I can give it to my daughter , when she goes on her walks with her friends to the play ground, I can have the piece of mind knowing she’s safe and know where shes at.
After pressing the button, the V.ALRT transmits a command to your smart phone to send a text message to your preset contacts, followed by phone calls. This alert behavior is completely customizable. In addition to the alert text messages and phone calls, the location from your smart phone can be sent to your emergency contacts.
There are basically two types of uses for the V.ALRT. First, it acts as a way of contacting people on your behalf (and providing your location) should you get in an accident or need assistance for some reason. The second function can be used for kids, pets, etc for detecting when things go and come within a certain range of you phone.
And we are thinking about getting one of these for my uncle, he needs one when none of us are home and something happens it will go to one of the phones.
Great little device and gives me a piece of mind when we are away he can call for help.
