Some of you might know I went to the Tanger Taste and Style experience this past Saturday and I have to tell you it was so much fun! I got to experience great food and watch a cooking Demo featuring Chef Robert Irvine, isn’t he awesome! Tanger Outlets, Hilton Head is the best place to indulge your sense of style and fashion taste this spring. If you love shopping, this is the place to go. Tanger Outlets even brought in Gourmet Food Trucks, yes you’re seeing right, Gourmet Food Trucks, Crave CupCake Boutique, 2 Fat 2 Fly, Roadside Seafood and the mobile version of Pawley’s Front Porch previously featured on The Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, all I have to say about that was yummy, my husband and I really enjoyed ourselves. The food was so good. I never eat off of food trucks, but we just had to try these and see how they were and it was really good.
The best part of my day was the meet and Greet with Chef Robert Irvine! When I found out he was going to be doing the live cooking demonstration I just had to go! Chef Irvine has the best TV show out there. Restaurant Impossible is so much fun to watch! Well let me get back to the best part of my day. When I heard that I would be meeting Robert Irvine, I thought ” OK, cool, I will get to shake his hand, take a picture say a few words and that’s it” I wasn’t planning on asking him any questions, I didn’t think he would have the time.. Well let’s say I was wrong! When I was ushered into Nosh ” Chef Irvine’s Restaurant” I was introduced to him and he pulled out 2 chairs, asked me my name and told me to sit. I was stunned. I looked at my husband and he told me to go..LOL..
I was in Awe, here I am sitting in front of Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine and I didn’t know what to say.. I am usually good for conversations, but not this time. I soon got out of my stupor and let him know right away that I loved his show, and he asked me what I loved about it. I actually love everything about Restaurant Impossible, it is a great show,. We talked about his show for a few minutes and then he asked me what I blog about. I preceded to tell him and I spoke about having a 19 year old Autistic son and that sparked his interest. We spoke for about 15 minutes give or take. I found out quite a bit about that Chef we all come to know on TV and love.
Chef Irvine seems tough as nails on his show, but he does a huge soft spot, he loves what he does, he loves helping people. This is a man the loves what he does, it is something that is instilled in him from the young age of 15 when he joined the Royal Navy, he learned how to cook and with all the knowledge he has learned he helps out all the families we see on his show and he also does a lot for charities. He visits the wounded soldiers and veterans and travels all over doing events. He does all this because he loves doing it, not because it’s a job, he doesn’t see it that way. I also got to meet his lovely wife Gail Kim.
Chef Irvine also spoke with me about this live online event that he will be hosting on May 29, 2013. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun. It is called, Dinner with Robert Irvine. How it works is – He will send you the shopping list, and a few tips and tricks and you will cook dinner together. Don’t worry about the recipes,he will teach you how to cook everything…live, online and in real time. For the first 500 people to sign up it cost $5 after that it’s $10 and a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit our wounded warriors and veterans.
My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Tanger Taste And Style, we ate great food, watched a live cooking Demo. with Chef Robert Irvine and had a few laughs while we were there.
