Puzzingo Kids Puzzles is the top ranking kids puzzles app in app stores with over 6 million downloads and 500 million puzzles played. Puzzingo was inspired by the classic Melissa & Doug wooden puzzles.
We loved the wooden puzzles when Devon was little, he use to play with them all the time. For children with autism, kids in speech therapy, and children with special needs, visual and audio cues throughout the app are designed to also make the game accessible for them. In fact, Puzzingo is the perfect enrichment app when working with developmentally delayed, autistic, and special needs children. This makes it a great first puzzle and with all of the interactivity, it’s really fun too.
They love the interactive puzzles, favorite themes (animals, vehicles), and that the puzzle comes “alive” once completed. They enjoy the “Daily Demo” section of the app which allows them to try some of the “paid” puzzles.
All of the puzzle pieces have their names written underneath them when they are in the puzzle shelf (creating a word-rich environment), and they say their names not only when they are tapped, but also after they are in the puzzle, which makes this a good vocabulary builder as well.
This is a great app to use now with Devon, he still loves to put wooden puzzles together. Keeps him busy and learning, when he gets it right we clap. There are also rewards like they get to guide a jeep and chisel a statute and after they are done a ton of balloons pop up that they can pop
These vary from dinosaurs, airplanes, princesses & fairies, trains, etc. It is so versatile and lots of fun. Also, once the puzzle is worked, you get to play in that scenario, The game has colorful graphics and a perky soundtrack that will appeal to kids. It’s a good introduction to shape recognition, and the voice on the interactive soundtrack will help young players to associate vocabulary words and their pronunciation.
