Proteins and Their Influence on Our Body

The word protein originates from Greek word “protos” meaning the first element. They are an essential part of our body, important for growth and regeneration and for proper functioning and structure of all living cells. When you eat food which is high on protein, stomach juices become active. They are dissolving the protein in food on basic units called amino acids. These substances are then joined again into proteins which are of utmost importance for the inner processes of your body. Given which types of amino acids are joint together, we distinguish muscles, organs, enzymes and many other tissues within our organism. It is of great importance for our body to introduce enough of proteins within the organism so we can support all the bodily function. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to operate on the same level. Like most of the substances, we need to regularly consume it through different food. In case that we are unable to replenish the level of proteins within our body, we should try and use additional supplements which you can purchase in your favorite international pharmacy.

We can differentiate two major groups of amino acids. First one is non-essential amino acids which are being produced within our body without any additional assistance. Second group is called essential amino acids. The latter one can’t be produced within the body; instead, they need to be added through food which we use in our day to day life. There are nine essential amino acids which we use. The list includes threonine, methionine, tryptophan, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, valine, phenylalanine, histidine and phenylalanine. Furthermore, proteins represent the biggest group of molecules within our body. They are present in all part of the body and all the cells. Their primary function is to build our muscle tissues and for formation of other cells in our body. The list, of course, includes all organs, hair and skin. This list also includes one of the most important systems, which is our blood system and cells within it. Among other important functions which they perform are metabolic processes and improvement and sustainability of the immune system. Of course, as previously mentioned, not all the proteins are the same. When we talk about where we got the proteins, we can distinguish plant and animal proteins.

Plant proteins, similarly to animal ones, have multiple amino acids, but none of the plants has all essential amino acids which exist. This is precisely why we need to eat different types of food in order to get all the necessary substances which our body needs. We can find the much needed proteins in peas, nuts, and different types of seeds, grains, beans and soya products.

Although some of the things which our body needs are in plants, most of the proteins are in animals and animal meat. In order for our body to function properly we need to establish a diet which will be rich with eggs, dairy products and different types of meat. All the necessary food and supplements can be found in any local drugstore or online pharmacy.

Hi, Kelly. Very interesting article and blog in general. I will definitely sign up and look forward to updates. I learned a lot about squirrels. I have a lack of protein and everything else I was diagnosed with gastritis. Therefore, I should use only supplements. Many foods containing protein, I can not because of the diet. By the way, how do you feel about food artificial additives? And if positive, what supplements would you highlight? I would like to see an article about it. I wish you good luck and health.
