Tis the season for Kelly’s Thoughts on Things Holiday Gift Guide of 2015. Today I want to tell you about Paper Punk! Christmas is coming, and for many of us, with the season, comes bad weather, and snow days. What do we do when cabin fever sets in? Get your kiddos creating with Paper Punk!

Paper Punk is a new, paper-based toy. Made to get kids thinking, creating, and using their imagination. 2D shapes are folded to create 3D geometric shapes and then put together to create toys and art forms. Think of Legos, made from paper, that you make, and then use to create! Paper Punk has so many kits to choose from! We got Spongebob Squarepants and a cool Ape. They also have all the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and, of course, Patrick. They have kitties, and robots, snakes and more! They also offer a Paper Punk jewelry kit, and Urban Fold, where you can build your city or town. The options are endless, and there is much fun to be had with Paper Punk.
What I think is great about Paper Punk is that I can see creative teenagers getting in on the fun as well. We all know they’re “too cool” to probably play with their designs, but I can see them creating them for display in their “teen caves.” I know as a teen, I would have been all over some of the animal designs Paper Punk has to offer. Maybe Paper Punk will entice your loner teen to come out of their room, and join in on some family fun. It’s worth a try!
Another reason I love Paper Punk is because it’s great Fine Motor therapy, disguised as fun. As an autism mom, my son still needs work on his fine motor skills. So stuff like this is great because he’s having fun, and not realizing that he’s doing therapy.
