Julia Crouse, an Independent Designer with Origami Owl, offered me the chance to experience a brand new way to express my individuality, my loves and my life- all through a beautiful piece of jewelry. Now, I had seen a few posts here and there around Facebook about Origami Owl, but had never had the opportunity to really look into it to see what it was all about. I am so glad Julia gave me the chance to see how beautiful this jewelry really is!
If this is your first time hearing about Origami Owl you are in for a treat. I am going to start off by telling you how this company was started.
Origami Owl was started by 14-year-old Isabella, in the fall of 2010. She was trying to figure out a way to make enough money to buy her first car by the time she turned sixteen. So, with $350 worth of babysitting bucks, she began to make and sell her original jewelry at home parties, gatherings and events, and before she knew it- Origami Owl took off like a runaway train! Now, Origami Owl’s beautiful jewelry is available online and through home parties, which are lead by trained Independent Designers- like Julia! The phrase ‘If you can dream it, you can do it,’ is absolutely true! What an inspiration Isabella is- an excellent role model for young women, and seasoned women, alike!
When Julia contacted me, she asked me what month my children were born in, I let her know. Julia then let me know when my order was shipped out. When I received it, all I was expecting was a locket with birthstones, what I received was something totally different. Julia really blew me away and made me actually cry. The reason look below and see what she designed for me.
Julia did a great job making my locket. This locket means a lot to me because she didn’t know anything about me, I didn’t tell her Devon was Autistic, I never mentioned I had animals or that I had 2 children a boy and a girl, all I told her were the birth months of my children. This shows me that Julia cares about her work, she read my blog and found out all she could about me and surprised me with this beautiful locket.
With every necklace that is made, it’s honestly like telling a story and Julia did a very good job on my story. The locket itself is sleek, easy to open/close and I’ve never had a problem with it opening. It has a good weight to it but isn’t too heavy. There are actually magnets on either side of the locket that helps ensure there’s a great seal to keep it closed. The charms inside are gorgeous. There are hundreds of charms available and they have something for everyone. This locket is stainless steel, which is really wonderful, because it’s hypo-allergenic, and it won’t rust or tarnish! So, anyone who has issues with they types of jewelry they wear, will love Origami Owl for this! The face of the the locket is clear, so you can show off your charms!
When you create your own necklace you get to choose literally everything! The first and major essentials for creating your necklace are to choose your locket size and metal, as well as your chain. The locket is magnetic so you can easily open it up and add or remove charms to make your necklace exactly how you want it!
What truly makes a Living Locket from Origami Owl unique to the person wearing it, is that it tells their story through the charms that they select and place inside of the locket. I’ve been telling everyone about my Living Locket, also, because it’s such a unique piece of jewelry, and it’s absolutely unique.
