Olive oil has so many benefits and can used in a variety of ways for at home beauty treatments. My favorites are:

Olive oil cleanser + sugar scrub + honey = antioxidant rich, hydrating face and body treatment

I LOVE oil cleansers! They are the best way to actually get rid of “dirty” oil and debris on the skin. Sounds crazy, but basic chemistry says: like dissolves like, so when you use oil to cleanse your face you are actually picking up the debris and dirty oil and dissolving it away while replacing it with healthy nutrient rich oil. Added bonus, by not using harsh detergents you keep your skins PH balance in its neutral state (doesn’t strip the skin of it’s natural oils). *Olive oil is not made for ALL skin types, however, people prone to breakouts should use oils such as Grapeseed, if you are looking for more of boost in anti aging benefits opt for Apricot Oil.
Cleanser:
Mix
6 Tbs of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. (I like California Olive Ranch EVOO)
2Tbs of Castor oil (boosts cleansing benefits, but can be drying, which is where Olive oil comes in to play)
You can make an oil cleanser scrub by adding 3 Tbs fine granulated sugar (ONLY use raw coarse sugar on your body, not your face)

Rinse with warm water and soft cleansing sponge or towel
Add 2 Tbs raw honey to damp skin (I like Beekind Local Honey… save the bees and shop for local beekeeper honey)
Leave honey on skin for 5-10 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.
Finish with your favorite serum or at home moisturizer.

BENEFITS: Olive oil and sugar help to gently cleanse and exfoliate dead layers of skin off of the face and body, while adding honey as mask after you scrub will provide moisture binding benefits and has antibacterial properties to heal and nourish skin.

Each of these ingredients offers serious antioxidant, clarifying and hydrating benefits for a youthful radiant glow.

Other uses of Olive oil:

As my Italian grandmother says, “use a little olive oil on your skin, take a little olive oil for your body.” She would literally give me a spoon full of olive oil and tell me to drink it so my hair and skin would be forever shiny, healthy and beautiful. (BTW, she is an 89 year old beauty and has the skin of 40 year old … perhaps she is on to something)

You can use olive oil on your cuticles and hands in place of moisturizer (add a little essential oil such as grapefruit or orange for a refreshing scent)

I used to work in an Italian restaurant and would constantly be washing my hands back in the dish/dessert area, needless to say there was never any hand cream or moisturizer back there, however, there was olive oil! It was in a giant dispenser used for their famous EVOO and Sea Salt Gelato dessert (if you have never had it, you must try it!) Every time I was back there, I would use a teaspoon or two of olive oil for my hands after washing them and maybe a spoonful or two of gelato just for safe measure. My cuticles never looked better!
Olive oil for your hair and scalp:
Mix olive oil and coconut oil with 2 drops of Tea Tree oil to treat dandruff and eczema on the scalp. Massage into scalp before shampooing. Rinse out and follow with conditioner.
Add a touch of olive oil to ends of hair to beat frizz and to seal the follicle.

Wow! There are so many benefits to Olive Oil! I never realized. I don't think I could drink it straight, but on a salad would be good. We use it a lot in cooking.

Thank you for cool info! I'm going to try the cleanser for my son. He is at age that his face is breaking out everyday.
